South Carolina

For the person a few pages back who asked about an online place to buy and sell chickens locally: I have had a lot of good luck with facebook groups. My fave is upstate SC poultry, obviously more for the upstate folk, but there are other groups for all over South Carolina. HTH

Hello South Carolina!

I'm fairly new to BYC, as a member anyway, been researching here a loooong time though, you can see my new member introduction. I currently live in Ohio, but my plan for the spring of 2015 is to move to your neighborhood and begin farming and herding chickens.

I have been searching for a SC thread to follow for awhile and finally found you. Wow, 2009 pages, guess i have a lot of reading to do to catch up.

Keep up the good conversations, i'm still learning. I like seeing where everyone is too, so that i can have another destination to research.

Well, as i said; hope all goes as planned and maybe i'll be your neighbor soon.

Hello Welcome to South Carolina! What area are you moving to? What kind of chickens do you have?
I live at York. And, I am raising Buckeyes, Dominiques, Bresse, Crested Creme Legbars, Lavender Amerucanas, Black Ameraucanas, silkies, and a few misc.

I'm hoping to move to the border area with NC, Dillon county, near Florence.

I do not have chickens yet, but I am planning on raising Buckeyes, Black Australorps and maybe Americauana's. I want multi-colored eggs too, so I will probably research that a little more and go from there.

Are you also on the Buckeye Thread, because I think I am recognizing your name.

Ok Regin, I went back and checked, it is you on that thread. congratulations on your recent success during the show.

Do I also remember correctly are your Buckeyes from the Lay line?

Thank you, it was my first show. I didn't really expect anything, I just wanted to go and see what it was like. It was fun, and I met so great people.

My Buckeyes did come from Jeff Lay. I waited months to get them and hatched the eggs here. They were hatched May 4th of this year, and are now 25 weeks old (just short of 6 months).

The plan is to breed to SOP standards.

@BuckAlorp The Pee Dee Association show that I went to is located South East of Florence at Lake City. There were some nice Australorpes there also. If you have not already, You should join the Pee Dee Farm Association group on FB. That would be good resources for you.

AND .. If you need some Buckeyes you know where to find me.
