Fabulous! And I know the babies loved being outdoors. I try to get some of mine outside when it is nice but I have so many that it is a lot of hauling in and out. They have a blast and wear themselves out digging in the grass. It sure is easier than digging up clumps of grass but not everyone gets to have the fun.

Really cute pen. I love it.

So far only one Polish has hatched. Oddly, with all the developed eggs in these shipped eggs not many are hatching. They are from 2 different people. The Silkies have not hatched at all and most of the Ameraucana eggs are not hatching but I am giving them plenty of time. Though I do have another 52 to move into the hatcher.
And this is my usual hatcher, not the still air one. I haven't put anything in the still air.

Or maybe the cat. Anything for attention!

Someone's color jets just didn't work when she was laying. They should be fine. No cause for alarm.

Is it just me, or are the workdays getting longer and the evening getting shorter? :p
Isaac had soccer last night so I didn't get home until 8. . .Took Roman around to look at all the gardens and checked on the chicks. Hubby moved the silkies to the pen. They were NOT happy.

As for naming meat birds-we don't. Actually only two of our birds have names. Those are the ducks- Quackers and Blackie (Yea, unoriginal!)

I had to unsubscribe to all the egg auctions. Not only are the 'bators over flowing but the auctions only offer the same breeds over and over since the same folks participate.

I am bummed that of the 20+ Ameraucana eggs that developed only 7 hatched and one of those was born without an eye! Both Polish hatched and a Silkie but I am not so sure any more are going to pop out.

I, too, think the work days get longer. But then, when I stand around and love to chat with my dear chickeneering friends, I do make my days longer. I can't help it!
However, poor Yancy got run off by the demanding DD. JUST had to go to work and mess up our chicken chatting the other day.
Joy has her sons trained right. She stayed as late as she could and they were both very good about it!

Both of Joy's boys are that way! So polite too!

Unfortunately Nicole has my habit of talking a lot.....so she is always right there in convos!

I have noticed that on the egg swap/auctions also.

I just watch for something I want
