If it does, let me know. I hate our hawk. Hate Hate Hate I've read that songbirds will chase them off. I also read someone who put a yellow raincoat in their pasture and put red eyes on the hood. She used a hanger and hung it on a post. Said hawks don't like red things. I have my girls locked up in a run until we figure out what to do. Sorry about your girl. We've lost a bunch.

its frustrating, got them out of itty bitty stage and just about ready to start laying and puff of feathers and ones gone. im gonna figurebout a scarcrow wont hurt yellow with red huh/// i can come up with that. thought about stinging some old cds too as reflectors???

ill let ya know how it goes

It has been a while since I've seen the crow around here. Down the road the pulp wood people are making lots of noise while cutting trees down, maybe it's scaring them away.

I get felt in the winter and linen or cotton in the summer. Get however much you need, a yard or so, and just measure out a chicken sized rectangle and cut 2 small squares about 3 inches apart from each other and slip their wings into the holes. Viola! A pretty (cheap) saddle!

shotgun blast may scare it away sure enough , that is when we see it.. its not a normal backyard bird so ive only seen it flying by on a couple of occasions.. my crows live in the front pasture and don't come back to our house. ahhh.. I guess till we see it and scar it off.. ill leave them in the run until it cools off in the eve and I can be outside with them for a couple of hours to forage then bedtime..

I tried the CD thing last year. Yeah no, not so much. Hawks are a lot smarter than we give them credit for. If your birds aren't under lock and key, it's basically like a convienence store in the backyard. "Hmmm, do I want a Snickers today or just a nice Slushy?".

Watch what chases hawks: mockingbirds and crows. Let's plan to hatch out some of those bad boys and figure out a way to keep them around!!!!
