Susanne, I can not imagine what I would do! I am so glad you and your daughter are OK. I hope you find all you birds!

Good news! It was definitely my car that the guy was driving when he was arrested in Pebble Creek yesterday!
The cops have been trying to call me but dear wonderful hubby gave them the wrong phone number.

Now I got to find where they towed it and pay the storage fee, which I would not have had except for DH not giving them my number correctly......oh, yeah...or leaving my keys in the car to start with.

Why did I not listen to my mother???

Hey if you wanna swap DH's. Just let me know. Mine decided to try driving with a leg cast on his reight leg. Brillany. Just brillany. On a sad note, I lost a chick to heat yesterday. And Amy Margot is still alive but her toes are all curled up. Dunno what to do...

Oh my gosh Amy!!! Bless your heart, that's all I can say. I have a husband too .... I understand. Don't know how to fix it, but I certainly sympathize.

Oh, and great news that they found your car. Let us know what shape it's in.

It would be really weird if it was my car and they found the way over to your house. I know the directions to your house were not in it and even so the way I write directions no one could follow them anyhow.

But that would be so strange. Although you said screeching the tires.....could not be my car. It doesn't have the power, I don't think.
And you could have shot it. DD and I were talking and if we do get it back we do not think we want to keep it. I will probably sell it and buy a smaller one. I had meant to sell it for a long time because it was so big but knowing it was my parents' car made me hang on to it. Kinda silly when my house is full of their stuff. Every time I put a chicken in that car I figured they were looking down from Heaven and gasping over it!

They were not animal people and I did not pamper the car nearly as much as Dad did. I am getting sentimental in my old age!

Hey Amy - I was just teasing about thinking it was your car. I just thought it was ironic that both things happened in the same night. My first thought when I saw those guys out there doing that was that they must have stolen a car. I can't imagine someone doing that with their own car.

Awww, Jackie! I feel bad for you! I know you don't want to do the deed by yourself but if your DH can try to drive a car then maybe he can do something for/with Margot. She isn't going to get better at this point.

It is crazy that the heat takes some of the ones we think are stronger but the ones we wish would pass peacefully just keep hanging on.

No, not sure I want any husband at this point. It seems I may do well by myself. He has been useful in some ways and is always encouraging me in my chickens and ducks....a bit too much perhaps. And he gave me the most wonderful child who held me as I cried the other night. She was probably scared since I doubt she has ever seen me cry.

I know we understand each other, Joy. We talk about it so much. It actually makes me feel better to know I am not alone in sometimes wanting to use severe discipline on a grown man. I don't expect perfection, just some use of the brains.

I finally found where the car is being held hostage. Down in Simpsonville!
ep.gif

What actually happened was the car was found on Hwy 290 in Greer at Black Horse Car Sales, not at the Pebble Creek traffic stop. Only 6 miles from my house!!!!! He drove it all the way back up towards my house because he stole it from down in Greenville about 20 miles from my house. He left it in that lot with my keys still in it and hot wired a nicer car (told you mine has no gitty up) and was caught on surveillance. So North Hills towed it down to Simpsonville and that tow bill is $175. I still haven't heard back from the people that have it to see what the charge is for storage.

The man did tell me it has some front end damage but not very bad. I have never owned a car with any damage so now I will probably have to have that fixed, too. Oh, how I wish I could take this out of DH's hide. If he had something I could take away from him I would but all he cares about is food and sleep and I don't cook for him anyhow. I suppose I could sell that beloved shotgun or rifle he owns but they were both my dad's so basically they are mine and I really am keeping them for that reason, too.

Sorry to carry on so. I am sure Susanne has a much worse problem to deal with than I do about my car. She has devastation, I just have stress.

I just can't get over how much damage was done. I can envision all you are describing since I was just there a few weeks ago. Those coops seem so sturdy, so I know that wind was powerful. I am so glad you and your daughter are okay.
It is possible that moving the coops to another area might work. Maybe over where the sheep are and there are some hills to protect them? Of course, then, you have to find a different area for the sheep...
If you need help this weekend with the cleanup, let me know. Lou Ann and I may be able to head your way and lend a hand for a while on Saturday.

Has anyone heard from Pink? She was supposed to come up this morning and didn't show up. I haven't heard anything from her but she PM'd late last night so she survived the storms down that way. Wonder if she went to help out Susanne?
