Well, we went all the way down to Simpsonville to get my car back only to be told that they could not release it to me because the cops haven't fingerprinted it yet!!! Excuse me! I talked to 2 police officers yesterday and North Hills Automotive this morning (where it is being held hostage) and no one bothered to tell me it was not yet released!??? Oh for pete's sake!
I pitched a lady like fit about the charges but they would not budge and informed me that if I did pick it up as soon as the Police were through fingerprinting it then they would not charge me more than the $259 already incurred.
And I saw my poor darling sitting in the back lot, all mangled and dirty. Broken driver window, inside had been turned upside down. All the stuff DD had bought for the animal shelter like cotton balls, alcohol, baking soda etc had been opened and dumped all over the seats and floors. Ash tray (never used) was laying in the back seat, hard candy from my console thrown all over the car.
The front bumper, headlight (pretty much gone) and passenger side banged up pretty bad. Scrapes all down the driver side.......we weren't allowed to touch the car, of course. It has been raining inside my car this week and all day today from the broken window and they won't cover it up because of evidence. Oh, and the gas hand is below empty. No wonder he ditched the car!
If my car has evidence all over it shouldn't it be in a police impound?
And no, they can't find my phone number through my tag and home info because my phone is a pre pay, although if they looked up my name on the Internet then yes, they could have found it but it seems as if they can't seem to get all their ducks in a row anyhow.
No one has said anything about Terry leaving the keys in it. I asked the Ins. guy this morning when I reinstated my ins on the car and he said liability won't help me with anything like this and the tow truck guy has to get paid somehow. I will, of course, be filing against the criminal for restitution but he will be in jail so long that I know I won't see any of this money back.
And give me a break......$175 to tow it down one road? Glad my regular tow truck guy is so affordable!!! (Not that I have to have my cars towed much but in the past 10 years twice I have had to call him.) I think Karen said that my friend charged her only $150 for that big coop she got for Mother's Day and went farther than the 20 miles my car was towed.
I need a drink....or something.
I don't even drink but gosh, I feel the need for .......a cigarette and gave those up more than 18 years ago. Geez, what a week.
Hey! How is everybody enjoying today's weather?
It is too wet for me to do much building and the chicks are mad because I didn't put any out in their day pens but I am not sweating nearly as bad and I may actually get all the chores done long before dark and can get in the house and in some jammies at a decent time. Whoo hoo for something.
