Wasn't the weather today glorious? I'm loving the lower humidity and the nice breeze. It's actually cooler outside tonight than it is in the house which is a first in a long while. I hope you all had a great day. I'm getting ready to fill up my new incubator. The temp has been holding steady all day and the humidity is between 40% and 50% and I haven't even added water yet. I'm so excited, can't wait to see what results I will get.

I have a question for you all. I have a small flock of white leghorns that I've been hatching from for about 2 years now. I saw a customer who bought a trio of them back in the spring and I was shocked by what he told and showed me. His leghorns are doing great and have raised 2 clutches of chicks for him. The last clutch threw one solid black chick. I've never had a black chick from them. I do get a few brown spots occasionally but they molt out. Okay, here's the second shocker....his white leghorns are laying brown eggs.

How does that happen? Mine are laying big, white eggs. And his are directly hatched from mine. I'm confused again.

Oh yes - I've been saving them just in case I was able to do this!!

I have guinea eggs, standard blue cochin, silkies, mille fleur d'uccle, bantam wyandotte, quail eggs, polish crested, marans .... the possibilities are endless now!

Oh yea, also La Fleche eggs! I also have broody hens sitting everywhere! My silver sebright is sitting, the bantam cochins are ALL sitting! 3 silkie hens are sitting, I have one little bantam cochin sitting on muscovy duck eggs.

Ducks are sitting everywhere and I still actually have a black sexlink sitting on eggs. I've never had this many broody hens before. Ahhhh......babies, babies everywhere! Yes Amy - I need to get that garage away from my husband. Guess what I found - someone gave me a 6' sliding glass patio door that I think will be great to replace the garage door with. I have a plan.....it will eventually come together. And if we could continue to have weather like today I might get productive.

I already received my green card to sell in NC. You still have time to get your card if you want to sell. (The week I sent mine in the post office was being !?>*&!!!

It took 8 days for it to come from NC. My duplicate almost beat the first one here.

It was mailed on Friday and got here on Mon.)

My donkeys are very sweet to everyone. We've had bunches of kids out and they feed them and pet them. We just always make sure people are aware of how to be around them. We have a few very big ones!
