I probably should, it would be nice to place something. It's just that I have no clue where to start. So far, I've been just trying to collect/grow nice silkies.

Sounds reasonable. I hope she responds in a positive way!
I candled your eggs and you had 9 that were clear but the others are growing. The lavs are still in the race! I think you lost whites and a buff, BBS.... I saved the eggs so you could see. Hatch date is approaching and I know you are eggcited!
Don't worry abt saving the clear eggs. Clear eggs is to be expected, and don't smell too good after three weeks.....
I'll write down what colors they were and that way you will know. They are going into the hatcher on Wed. so keep your fingers crossed on getting all the others to hatch out. Hopefully all will be out of the shells by Friday so you can pick up. Then you can add even more Silkies to your growing flocks!
Love those buffs!
I need all my chicken friends to think Calm Farm Thoughts this week. My husband left this morning at 4 am on a mission trip to Honduras. Waiting to hear they landed safely. I know there was a hurricane down there yesterday. I'm hoping hoping hoping that everything stays calm at the farm this week, especially since I can't contact him. No dead lambs. No major storms. No wild dogs.

Definitely thinking Calm Farm thoughts, well, as long as my 14 year old son is out of the room. He has gotten so good at pushing my buttons that lately they tend to stick!

I have had you all in my prayers this week, especially with your DH going down there. I knew Harvey was about to hit there but thought if it was that your DH could not fly in and might get stuck in an airport somewhere. Have you not heard from him today? Keep us posted!

You lost 2 of the 3 whites, 2 of the 5 buffs, 2 marked bl/lave/sp and 3 of the BBS. I was worried about a few other BBS but hope they hold on. The veins still were there but it looked suspiciously like they may be quitters. The air cells were pretty damaged but I had them on the bottom of the bator for the first week and have been turning them only slightly twice a day. I really hope those Lav/Por ones make it!
