Question...Has anybody ever made chicken snacks for your flock from leftover chicken layer mash? Mine got a taste of the coarser ground stuff.....so they think they can be picky now. The last time I fed them the laying feed, last week, a hen took her beak and swiped it right out of the feeder. Looking for the good stuff I guess.

So...now...Plan B. I am thinking of making the wild bird type winter feeder treats..with the seeds, feed, some kind of binding agent...making it all into treats...so, when I toss a few little balls into their cages...they will think they are getting spoiled.

Hi Pokey!
We have met before. I came and bought some of your chickens. The Polish went to another person but I still have the buff Orp hen I got from you. She wears a pink tag so I call her Pinky. She has always been a super sweet gal and a great pet.
I bet you stay busy with your little one growing up so fast. Running around and keeping you running after him!

Yes I remember you. And yes my little girl does keep me busy. We have made a few changes since your visit. My birds are all in coops off the ground. I lost a chick today even though I had it in a wrapped wire pen, but it was at ground level. Gonna have to build a brooder off the ground I guess. My husband still misses that Bo . She was his bird mainly, lol.

Wish I could make it but much too far for me to drive. There are many others that are closer and may be interested.

I will probably be going to the Oct 29th show up in Morganton and take anything I have left to sale.

Also, anyone interested in mixed breed LF hens for sale? I have a friend that has a pen of them and may want to sell them off instead of eating them. I have encouraged her to do so. Usually everyone wants LF laying hens. Roosters I eat, hens I sell.

Amy, where can I find more information about the Morganton show? I'd like to plan on going

Just to humor you all......

Her most recent reply......

"I told you that I have had a really bad season and did'nt have the money to ship! You will produce many sq chics out of this pullet , that have all the great genectics of the parenting stock. So in turn you are wanting me to refund you 50.00, let you keep the pullet that will hatch hundreds of chics. I am sorry, that just does'nt make any sense to me. If I send you another pullet, you pay the shipping, you will still have two silkies with great genetics producing twice as many chics. Now what seems fair to you?"

What should I do? Pay shipping for another bird from her? or cut my losses?
