Yes they can be molting. Most if not all my birds molted throughout July and August. My BLRW just started laying again. It was crazy, because it constantly looked like a murder seen at the chicken coops.

Mom and I went to Huckleberry Farms and met Susanne and her daughter and husband. and all her little Flockers.. we pulled up and saw her Coops and oh my gosh she has Rainbow row.. LOVE the little colored Coop row.. I have got to get my husband out there to see.. " see honey how cute it can be!!" hummm... don't know if Ill get that response or not.. haha... he is not a pet or a chicken person.. I don't know why not the chickens. he was raised in the Coal mines of Virginia and they literally live on top of a mountain,. his dad dynamited the mountain to get a flat enough wide enough area to build a house.. his mom did not allow pets of any kind ( not even gold fish --- sad I know) and the only dogs they had hunted and if they stopped hunting it was gone... well the chickens are bringing in eggs and meat.. sooo he should be ok with them??? who knows??? maybe its a guy thing?

Any way.. Susanne was wonderful to visit with her daughter a darling girl after my own outdoorsy heart. she has some beautiful birds. all the colors.. sizes and breeds wow.. beautiful..

we came home with 2 girls for Midas.. a beautiful white girl named sherry and a blue girl mary, 2 pretty EE hens and 2 Colombian hens. have them in the coop in separated cages, so that all the girls can get used to one another and they get used to us. Im so eggcited about my little flock.. cant wait to take pictures..

thanks again Susanne for a wonderful visit.

We already have Buffs, but would love to add some variety!! I have some shipped eggs via the egg chains in the bator now, but looking for perhaps some more hatching eggs or even some started or adult birds.

Oh the SWL(rosie) probably isn't gonna make it...I think she had a egg break in her or something happened to her internally cause something isn't right and it's going downhill. I have no idea.

Just wanted to share wants going on!!!! Man this cold front is nice but cold...

I just wanted to announce that after a bird seemingly had a relapse (still not over the cocci 100%) I found sulmet in town. So started my flock on it today! I bought a gallon of that crap. Coated an arm and a leg, but I have got to nip this in the arse. My birds have been on corid off and on since may. This is the first time using sulmet. Hopefully this puts the cocci back into hibernation mode for a while.

I have some BEAUTIFUL blue orpingtons but they're not laying yet. Those orps sure do take their sweet time! Mine came from Mary - Southern Bee Lady. They are really nice birds. Not sure if she has any for sale but you could check with her. I'm hoping to have eggs anyday now but.....orps take their time, they must be true southern birds.
