I thought of you, Joy when Patsy said hers were flying up in the tree to sleep. I knew you had gone through the same thing and yours were out in that snow we had last Jan, I thought you said, and they did fine. I knew you had some open structures where yours can come and go if they like so I knew you could help Patsy with what works well for that.

I am such a silly person as to have worried myself sick with Guinea Girl sleeping in the tree behind the barn. She was used to it but I worried about an owl, which Jolie could not protect her from. But I think she is part of the flock now and where they go she will, too. With the 4 new juvies joining their family flock and the 2 babies that Guinea Girl and Boy raised successfully, then I have a nice crowd of talkers. There are at least 2 juvie girls so Guinea Boy thinks he is a KING!

And now I have 6 babies running around the brooder coop with them at night as I figure they aren't going to venture far. Two are Pearl pieds and I will keep them but the others go to the sale next week. I think I am taking about 18 Pearl keets to sell.

I've been letting my guineas out during the day lately. They are in with my layers. I sold almost all my layers and only have my roo, Butterscotch the frizzled Cochin, and about 8 girls. They go in during the day to eat and drink. So far they just hang around the chicken area. They just turned 3 months old. How much bigger will they get? I have 22 of them. They crack me up. They just run in a big group from here to there. I'm not even sure any of them know where or why they're going anywhere but they do. So funny!

I've had a Christmas Cactus for 15 years. I just leave it in the same place all year in the house and sparingly water it. I always pick a window that gets some light but not a lot of direct sun. Seems to do fun. Hadn't really thought about putting it outside in the summer but it makes sense. Might try that next year!

My husband just took the kids to school and is going to get a new and very long extension cord. Unfortunately the coop with the babies is the furthest from any power source. I need to have someone come out and put in another electric thing down in that area. But all the babies in the coop made it through the night. I brought the littlest ones in but they are jammed into the bins and must go back out today. At least everyone is alive!

OMG! They are trying to make us give up chickens!

I went the other day and got 4 bags of starter and 4 layer from the local mill. I paid less than $85. But that still hurts. I feel good when I earn a bit from selling only to go spend it over at the feed mill.

Stupid iphone

Frizzles are broody and complain about the iphone. Like Joy and the Smart phone.
