Don't think the house chicken is going to work out. The dogs are extremely interested in him, and though they haven't acted aggressive or tried to hurt him they sure do pay an awful lot of attention to him and want to keep their noses buried in his feathers. I don't have time to babysit all day so he's back outside all alone... feel sorry for him yet? want to take him home with you? LOL

I wish I could but DH might question my sanity if I get another rooster with what I have here now. I do love these guys! I hope you find him a good home.

I am fixing the 5 x 10 kennel for d'Uccles--think that will be enough room for the 4? We are putting tarps around it and fresh sand before they go in. I also want to clean the roosts and put some more in there for them. I will be nice to have them in there as that if the one pen we will see from the new porch real well. Most of the other pens are going to be moved back to another area. My work is never done...

What kind? I have extras, several really beautiful black jersey giant roos. A nice red roo named Rudy....and many others.

Both of Susanne's pictures were Splash

The top is a white-based Splash and the bottom is a blue-based Splash. That's how I've heard it described. Both are Splash.

Thanks! I believe I have a blue splash hen and roo then. So does blue splash x blue splash give 100% blue? That's what I've been getting.

Mille fleur d'uccles are easy to sex right after hatching. The males have " stripes" down thier backs and the girls dont. Hope that helps

I have never noticed stripes on the d'uccles but I will start looking for that. It would be wonderful to know at hatch what I have.

Thank you! Though I have mostly Porcelains. Only 2 Mille girls. I always love learning new stuff!

Working!
I had a bunch of customers this afternoon. Whew! All at once everyone wanted eggs and chickens. I sold a bunch of bantam Cochins so that helps lighten the load for more feed. And I cleaned out one pen. Only I filled it up again before dark was upon me!

I just love Cowboy for his great personality but he is very handsome, too. You know I don't do blue Mottled too much, though I want to put some girls with my Frizzle roo. I just am not much of a blue bird lover. And though I love golds, I don't care for buff Orps as much.
I do love the blue Mottleds here now though. The kids from Cowboy are striking in color and pose and Cowgirl is a dainty little love package. I enjoy handling her and can't wait until she gives me kids from Dan the Man.
But I am really trying to get my buff Mottled project going. Here is my best pullet I have created so far.....
