South Carolina

Hey everyone! I am a chicken newbie! we are looking to get some chicks and start a flock. Does anyone know of any hatcheries in the upstate? It looks like the online places people have suggested to me, I can't get females before May and I would like them to be outside by summer (which obviously would require me to get them soon) can anyone help me out? I am looking to get Easter Eggers and Buff Orpingtons.

Glad you joined us. no hatcheries, but someone here may have what you are looking for. Several have EE's, like WestKnollAmy, not sure about BO's

of course there is always Tractor supply. you may have to call several to see if they have what you are looking for, and they have a minimum of 6, but if that is more than you want, you can grow them out and take them to a "Chicken Swap"

PS. KisH is the Mrs. Sometimes I post things here I don't want her to know, so SHHHHHHH

Alas, I have nothing for sale except hens. I may have a few BO hens for sale. I am keeping most all my chicks because I like to see how they grow up and what i need to keep for future breeding to improve my birds.

We got some in Charleston at the Tractor Supply, after running into a similar problem with the on line places. We have been very pleased. They have different birds coming in all the time.
