As long as you're not in the city limits you are good to go. Make sure you have approval if you're going to sell eggs. Clemson has a lot of good info about SC state rules and regulations. Dr. Helm is really nice and can answer any question you could come up with.
Be prepared for neighbors and observers if you have a lot of roosters though. And if you see a white sedan parked and a guy taking notes after observing whatever he can see from the road, don't panic. You can call it in, but it's most likely the police making sure you're not involved in cock fighting. Apparently there is a big initiative going on to stop illegal fights.

I don't think so. I have around 30 birds on about an acre and everyone has been fine with that.

You'd have to check on FB for a heads up on what's coming. And ask them what they are allowing
