South Carolina

If I was on good speaking terms we could have gotten together at my sister's house. They live on the lake in a nice big house with a wonderful screened room beside their floating dock and they have sand hauled in for the swimming area. However, she and I have been on the "outs" for a while and I can not ask. She lives outside Columbia.
Lake Murray has parks around it near Columbia and that should be central to everyone. We could grill out and talk chicken and whatever all day!

You have sister issues too? I have 2 sisters in Camden, same problems! Ugh.

Or, we could grill chicken and talk out all day!

I'd do it here, but we have 3 large dogs who have been known to bite, and that would be a big problem- and I'm too far south for the upstate to make a daytrip of it.

So- is there a state park thereabouts?

I'll check it out later, got to tend chickens and the incubator right now! Delaware bBlue Hens on Day 20!

There is a Billy Dreher Island that is a few miles north of Columbia but I thought we could get together more towards Columbia so that way no one has to drive much further than necessary.

We could always meet at Sesquicentennial State Park.

Miles from

* Charleston, SC: 120
* Florence, SC: 72
* Greenville, SC: 115
* Charlotte, NC: 85
* Raleigh, NC: 195
* Atlanta, GA: 220
* Augusta, GA: 80

you can take either I20 or I77 to get there.

What? No mileage from Hollywood?

, just teasing ya!

Are grills provided? I have a small shade tent, and grills, and cold water Igloos, coolers, a few chairs, assorted picnic stuff. And a pickup truck! For tail-gating. I will also chip in for food expenses, in fact, if a menu can be set, I can get the stuff together and haul it there. I used to do this stuff all the time- only I did it for around 200 people. I LOVE BBQ's and parties!

Hi!
I am in Sumter, SC not too far from Columbia. I think it would be nice to meet some more chicken people in my state. I am willing to help with a get-together. I think Sesquicentennial State Park is a good location. I work during the week, but could do it on a Sat. or Sun.
