For sure. I'll put all the lawn chairs about halfway to the river and provide everyone a sharp machete to cut a path to them. Just put in a new well 200' deep with super water. I'll ice a cooler full and put it with the lawn chairs. Caught most of the cottonmouths last week so no worry there.

On a serious note there will be some really nice chicks. I have to leave Wednsday and did not want to put them in a tank. The kids have enough to take care of as is.

Sounds like my place, only no river. We rehomed a 4' yellow rat snake yesterday- stinker had 3 eggs in him! When he took off, it was ssss bump, bump, bump, sssssss bump, bump, bump..............

I'm thinking we might be smart to wait for cooler weather- the mosquitos are fierce already, and the heat has risen with the humidity. Having grown up in Camden, I can attest to the fact that the Midlands are hotter than the coast!

I think the picnic areas are in the wooded part of the park. They have picnic shelters and grills if I'm not mistaken.

If I could get there during the week, Gary, I would be there in a heartbeat! Your chicks are awesome! And your place is very beautiful, even if it is in the middle of no where. Which is another great reason to love it! It is gorgeous down your way. I am glad you decided to "retire" here.

Sesquicentennial State Park sounds good. I have not ever been there but in another few weeks I will be passing the exit yet again. We have Guinea Pig shows down that way and also pass it going to the beach sometimes, though we more often go to Charleston to do our beachin'.

Summerville here. Just starting out with 6 Buff Cochin Eggs arriving this week and 6 Light Sussex Chicks coming in a couple weeks. We're only looking for 2 hens, so we'll have plenty of extras if anyone is interested. I'm looking for Blue Wheaten Ameracauna's and an Easter Egger next.

We're in the process of building our chicken coop now. Just curious if anyone has trouble keeping the chickens cool during these hot summer months? We have a nice run and I think good ventilation, but with the humidity is there anything additional I need to do?
