Hey everybody!

I just saw we have new people on here and wanted to say

and welcome!

I have been so busy collecting and setting eggs, rearranging breeding pens and taking care of more than 100 chicks recently hatched, I haven't had a chance to look over here.
The Hova bator ran it's hatch really well and now I am getting ready for the big Sportsman to starting spitting out chicks. It has been busy, busy, busy this spring so far!

Happy hatching everyone!

OMG! Nice incubator!

I mine is a little giant still air incubator I got from Tractor Supply. I started out with 26 eggs and am down to 24 right now. Two of my eggs had craked.

I put them in 3/3 and candled over the weekend (early I know, but I couldn't wait). So far so good! I cracked the first one when I was checking the water at the bottom of the incubator. The other I found cracked while candeling. Before I tossed it, I opened it to see how far the development was. Nice webbing of vains on top of the yolk with a spot in the center of the vain web. I got so excited

cause I wasn't certain if all the eggs were fertil, but it seems they are.

This is my first hatch so if I get 50% hatched, I will be very pleased.

McNugget how's your hatching doing?

Check out my hatching tread!

We got 2" + snow this year. Ft Jackson not to far. Come see us have lunch with us some time. RIR are good egg layers can be craby to each other at time's, but no problems. the white rocks and the OB very easy going. I just but in 20 eggs yesterday in incubator they well be 1/2 WR and 1/2 RIR. Should be a very good all purpose chicken! Yes I did build incubator. Also just made a smaller one (75 eggs) for the lock down time. That has help a lot to keep differant eggs going at differant times.
One picture is our silver polish rooster he grown to be mean have him in his own cage. My RIR rooster is the most gentle one I ever had.

Have been really busy hatching here since Christmas, and have several birds up for sale...If anyone is interested in Seramas, smooth or frizzled, please check them out...Pick-ups are always welcome, and I can put several birds into a box (they are small!) for shipping. http://www.pixiechickens.com/for-sale/ I will have some smooths up later today, as soon as I can take some pictures...

I am working on getting frizzles with different colors - blue, red, orange...I have gotten my first frizzled silkied serama, BLUE and brown!!!

He is so-o-o cute!!! It is difficult to get that blue gene into a frizzle, but I'm working on it! I will try and get a picture of him today as well...

My apologies to the group, I didn't mean to break the rules! Since the birds-for-sale are already on auction, I didn't think I could put them on the Auction here...If I have a bird to sell, can I make an announcement there? I sometimes get so caught up in talking about my birds, I just go 'off' on a tangent, not sure of where I should be! Please remove my post, I won't be offended...! I also tend to think I'm talking to people nearby, which I guess says a lot about the people here...

I love this group, I really do!
