South Carolina

Hello Fellow South Carolinians!

I've been a part of BYC for just a short time, and am now addicted. I've been so wrapped up in the other topics that I just noticed this one! What a great idea!

I look forward to getting to know everyone, trading stories, and having people to talk "chicken" with.

Hi Kelly! I'm actually really close to you - I live in the Rosewood neighborhood. I would definitely be interested in getting together with some other folks to order some organic chicken food. I would also love to see your setup sometime. I'm a complete chicken newbie and I still have a lot to learn!

We should have our coop done this week and plan to move the girls in on Friday. I can't wait!

and finsh the coop too ,this heat wave and t-storm is been bad. thanks robin

I could probably talk Horse & Garden (Horrell Hill) into carrying it if we have enough buyers.

OH! I just saw that they already ship to a horse farm out this way too---that might even be better. I'll have to contact her though and see whether she'd bite.

Here's their link to pricing. http://www.countrysidenatural.com/home.php?cat=12

Let
me know whether I should pursue this.

Hello,

Does anyone know where you can buy the nipple type poultry waterers in the columbia/greater midlands area? I've checked with all the feed stores I could think of. Just wanted to check to see if I might have missed a source before I mailordered some.

Thanks!

Hi everyone, I am relatively new to chickens. I live on Edisto Island, slightly south of Charleston. I would love to find some chicken raising friends

If anyone is out my way give a holler.

Horse & Garden isn't too far from me. I would absolutely go there for Countryside Natural Products if they carried them.

FYI for the other folks in the Columbia city limits...we got our coop inspected and our chickens licensed by the city last week. The chickens even got little tags like the ones the city gives cats and dogs! The woman who does the inspections said that we were only the third chicken owners who had called animal services for an inspection.
