Yes they have settled in quite good compared to my khaki's I got a few weeks ago. Yes they have been in and out of the pools none stop going round in circles so fast they more or less emptied it so had to fill it back up again. They have been running round like idiots, they didnt know what way to turn 1st, scattering all other ducks in their way, they are funny to watch and I just love the coloring on them. Thank You, im very pleased with them Lisa.
As for drakes, I have 2, they dont seam to like the Khakis and just pin them down and not do anything with them, but they have been eyeing up your 3 ducks quite alot. I have a white drake and a blue, so maybe I will take a mix match of eggs next Spring and see what I get. With Runner, Pekin, Khaki and your girls and a white Magpie drake and a blue Runner drake, I should get some nice babies to add to what I have, hopefully they wont ALL be drakes.

Oh, sure, Jackie, I will be breeding a new giant Cochin roo I got from Godiva this past summer to my blue hen, black hen and buff hen. They are in a breeding pen now but the girls have molted and are not laying at this time.
I have tons of babies hatching from other breedings and will hatch all winter. Mostly it is Frizzles, Sizzles and bantam Cochins but I have many projects running and hatch from about any breeding pen that has eggs. I just sold my really nice Wellie roo and will not be hatching any more of that breed but have kept the hens for the egg flock since the eggs are beautiful in the cartons. I now have a pen of only black copper Marans and a pure blue copper pen going.
Goodness knows I am always building more pens and coming up with new breeding ideas. It's a sickness!

I am over run with Roos and need someone to cull them and process them. I would love to find someone in the Laurens/Greenwood area.

Just curious... what kind of breeding pens do you build? I'm about to start on that journey and am trying to figure out just what makes sense and what I need.

Golly! I need to get on here more often! LOL

My new pages on my website should be up next week and I have new photos of some other ideas I have built. I gotta problem, I tell you, when all I want to do is build pens and fill them up!

DH is wanting me to search Craigs list for more dog pens to buy, as well.

Thanks Jackie, for the input on my coops and pens.
And of course, you all are welcome to come see everything in person!

Standard Cochins are wonderful birds. I have had them for many years and really enjoy them. What color or pattern are you planning on getting?
There is usually a show in Orangeburg the first Sat. of Dec. I have never been but have seen it advertised quite often.
