No, we didn't move to Weeks Road til May. BUT, i did see on the Chronicle last week i think that a dog had chased after some horses and the owner shot at the dog but missed and he alerted the county sheriff about it.

A few months ago we were coming home late one night and there was a horse standing on the side of the road at the bridge on Nicholson...scared the you-know-what out of us! lol

Here is my flock at supper time!

Cute flock! You know how I said none of my LF hens had gone broody? I went to go collect eggs lastnight and got the goodness pecked out of my hand for trying to boot my plymouth barred rock out of the nest box. I gave it another shot and was able to pry her off for a moment, but she ran right back to the eggs. I gave up and turned my attention to my salmon faverolle hen. As soon as I looked at her, she started growling at me. I wasn't going to push my luck. Now, I could have gotten them off the nests if I wanted to, but I'm not sure I want to. I need more chickens like I need a hole in my head, but maybe I can disperse them somewhere. Or I could remove all but the silkie eggs... There would be EEs mostly, with some silkies, exchequer leghorns, and marans and barred rock/exchequer leghorn mixes. My ameracauna and wyandotte boys haven't become very "active" yet. Any takers? haha

Thanks! Mine haven't gone broody at all, but sounds like that may be a good thing, at least right now, lol. The Wifey said I couldn't have anymore chickens, until we start hatching our own, why we got the Dom rooster. If you hatch out those maran/BR/leghorn mixes I would like to see them asap!

How old are your boys? Mine is the same way, he is 9 months so maybe they''re still too young...next spring perhaps???

No one eats sweet potato casserole? Shame on them! That rocks! Hope everyone has a wonderful day, no matter how big or small. Last year at this time, I didn't even have a farm and was scared to death of chickens.

Looks like Thursday is going to be okay. Hoping! I'm just about done painting my coops. I have four converted wood playhouses and am painting them to look like Rainbow Row in Charleston. I think I'm going to call them Rainbow Egg Row.

One more to do. It's so beautiful today that I'm sure I can get it done!

Sounds beautiful, Susanne! Make sure to show us photos. Your place is beautiful already, I am sure this will be another attractive addition.

I sure hope the weather is good. I hate doing chores in nasty weather before I have to go in and get ready for a nice meal. At least it will be just the 4 of us.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and treats their birds to some leftovers!
