I'm not in South Carolina...BUT, I have an Aunt near you ...in Boiling Springs, just outside of Spartanburg.

VERY Pretty Country !!!

(I'm related to a lot of folks in that area and Campobello, SC and Polk County, NC.)

Happy New Year to you Eric! Are you setting eggs this weekend? I need to get the whole group of chicks in a pic and post it...LOL and thanks Beth I think they are all pullets and frizzles too..(wink) Junkmanme come visit...silverduckwing...good luck on your quest for eggs...I have silkies but no silkie roo at the moment..

Thought I was only going to have 5 from this hatch this am...one was looking mighty puny...took a long time for it to get out of the shell...had me quite worried so I gave it a bit of sugar water and snuggled it close all morning...it is now jumping around in the brooder and eating and pooping

Sure had me scared...she is the runt but has a big chirp...

HAPPY NEW YEAR and looking forward to trouble free hatches in the year to come!

snick,

I'll wager that the "runt" turns out to be one of the BETTER CHICKENS...full of Life and durable !!!

I need to repair my incubator so I can hatch some eggs when things get warmer here.

BEST WISHES and Happy New Year to ALL of you "Chicken Lovers" in South Carolina !!!

Yep i am setting some eggs from beth and john either tonite or tomorrow. This will be the first attempt of me hatching a egg I hope i do it right. My tepm is between 97.2 and 102.4 and the humidity is 55% I have been watching it closely and I sure am going to give it my best shot. But knowing my luck it will get unpluged or light bulb will burn out or they wont get turned but I will give it my best shot.
If I am successful I am hopeing that I can get some eggs from dipsy and snick I want a variety of chickens!! E

Ahhhhh I am excited for you Eric...I am having too much fun with these chicks in the brooder...good luck on the hatch!

Happy New Year!

Silverduckwing, I sent you a PM. I got lots of Silkie babies growing up in several ages. Blacks, blues and one little white one. Betsy wants the Partridge ones.

Junkmanme, I think you PM'd me before. I live in the Holly Springs community at the edge of Campobello. A stones throw from Boiling Springs.

I have about 45 eggs in the bator due to hatch next Sat. and then that is it for me for a few months. I am tired of cleaning brooders! A short break, revamping the bators and then back to it in March.
At which time I have an big order of chicks due in from Meyer and in April another due in from Strombergs and also another one due in from Sandhill Preservation Center with ducks and chicks. And I hope that will be it for the ordering.

Next winter, I swear, I won't be so full of baby chicks and can spend time sitting and reading instead of a lot of cleaning!
