I use the cheap accurite digital ones. I have another that does indoor outdoor temps & humidity. I just drop the wire into the bator through a vent in top and wait 15-30 minutes and spot check the bator that way.
I put in fresh batteries for every hatch. ( I do not hatch much right now....about 6-8 times last year.) The old ones go in our battery stash - we can always use them for remotes, controllers, etc.

We went to one in Timmonsville....very ummm laid back and then dinner at a fish market where you pick your fish and they cook it...cheap and good!

Made the flock block for the girls today...went to a horse mtg and when I came back it was almost all gone! DH thought it was a cake for him when he saw it..I molded it in a bundt pan...ha I should have let him eat it!

Okay so i am putting 36 eggs in the bator in about an hour...figure if I do it at night then they will hatch at night and I can wake up to surprises! (or I will stay up all night) Didn't plan on 36 but after picking up the maran eggs a friend brought over a dozen silkie eggs since she knew I was getting ready to start the bator...and then my frizzle girls laid a few so well...here we go again..
