From what I understand the male rsl are white/gold and the females are reddish/tan colored, so i would say you have 2 females, that is, without seeing in person. So does that mean it went dead as in no good any more or dead as in batteries died????

I told Big Daddy to hurry up for you John...not sure if he listened or not. John let me check I may be able to find you a JG roo....if you are interested.

Hey John how about some eggs to hatch I got that Jersey giant Easter egger roo and I have 2 buff orphangintons and a dominecker and a Rhode island red hens I also have 2 bantam chocins that he likes really well so how many dozen do you want???? Hatching is fun we are having so much fun with the babies. I will probably hatch some of my flock around easter.

Thanks both of you. I'm really looking for a laying hen or 2 at the moment. I've got 10 in the bator and 6 Delawares coming from Privett Hatchery via Country Boy Feed Store in North Augusta the 1st of March so I don't need babies I'm good on those for now, lol. The JG roo sounds good Snick. IF AT ALL possible, I would prefer it be a blue or splash.

Thanks ya'll.

The other JG roo was gone already John, and he was black like mine. I saw there were 2 free 10 month old RIR roo's on craigslist in Gaston today. It was under farmand garden in the Columbia listings. Sorry I don't have any laying hens available right now in my bigger girls.

I am putting eggs in the bator TODAY!!!

Some eggs are from Bluebell and Lav-my favorite couple. (Both blue orpingtons)
The others are from a Black roo over splash hens--should be 100% blue chicks. I am curious if it will work like that.

Also a few black on black opingtons.

Yes, Mary, you will get blues from that but I believe a sport is likely to pop out, too. It depends on what is behind them as to what genes they may carry and be hiding. You cross up 2 birds that are hiding the same gene and you can get something unexpected.
