SO FAR....we have 7 out of 10 chicks. 1 of the last 3 eggs has a pip, the other 2 are still cooking. When I get the whole clan into the brooder (3 are still drying off) I will post a picture of everyone!

Can't wait John! Put mine in lockdown yesterday and I thought I heard chirping tonight...I swear it looks like I have a pip already on one of the silkie eggs...

Here is one of the chicks who has "branded" itself part of the family. The pattern of black on its back makes a "W"...letter of my last name!

Now for my bator news...I was so busy watching the little silkie egg that I missed the fact that one of the BCM eggs hatched

okay hatchin is all over!! Had 9 out of 11 hatch. The las pipped one finally came out about 430. The final egg stopped development ( i candled to be sure, then later cracked it) I'm guessing somewhere around day 12-16.

82% hatch rate...not bad for a first timer!!!

Okay 2 silkies are out and 1 maran...lots more pips chicks chicks everywhere!

Worried about the one silkie that had pipped last night...it is not out yet but I am leaving it be...that is very hard I want to reach in and check it...sigh
