Not sure what other birds you already have but I can tell you that I LOVE Plymouth Rocks. My roosters are huge and I can just walk right up to them and pick them up. I hold them and pet them and they're very tolerant of me.

The white rock hens are great broodies.

I like my silver laced wyandottes, they are friendly birds. I had a Delaware Roo for about a year and he was a nice guy, but I couldn't get anyone to sell me any hens so I sold the rooster. Felt sorry for him being all alone. He was very pretty though. I love my Americauna's, beautiful birds and alot of fun.

I LOVE MY Plymouth Rocks!! I'm so glad I got them as my first chickens. I only have hens and they are so sweet and have awesome personalities!! They where not my first choice but I'm so happy I have them!. I love my Buff Orps too, but the Rocks "Rock"!

Oh, dear. I think I would die of heartache! But I am thinking about planning a BYC party later this spring.... with chickens or not. But definitely food and adult beverages. And I guess you can bring your family.

the red sussex is a very rare breed but all the sussex is very nice birds. i have a speckled sussex hen and 2 roosters and about 10 week old chicks and i have 1 light sussex hen but i am looking for a rooster and eggs cooking

So is that what you think little red is? A red Sussex? My husband thinks I'm nuts for trying so hard to figure out the breed but I see it as a distraction from the rest of my hectic life!

i really can not tell but it could be. ihave about 70 chicks in the brooder now and more to hatch. a man will be here today to buy about 40 or 50. he wants all the black copper marans, silver lace wyandottes, and blue lace red wyandottes that i have left so that will leave me with buff orpingtons, speckled sussex and speckled sussex x with light sussex and milli fleur cochins.

I would love to see pics of the silver laced and blue red laced wyandottes! Too bad he is getting them all. They are really really high on my wish list. The description on them has all the traits I want....but of course I know temperment varies from bird to bird but the breed over all appears very nice! What is a Milli Fleur Cochin?

thanks a bunch i am proud of them. the man that is coming today he just bought 1 rooster and 5 pullets 3 weeks ago and he bought 2 pr. of black copper marans and 1 rooster and 4 hens of silver lace wyandottes 4 weeks ago

And he's scoming back for more? Man you must have some great chicks!!

We are going today to get some wood to build our very first brooder....the cardboard box in the bath tub is no longer! I am having to clean it out everyday from all the poop that the chicks and duck are making! Plus the duck is soaking the box with water everytime it "plays" in the waterer.

I am making it large enough for a few more chicks....hehe!
