South Carolina

Ok, my fellow South Carolinians, are/do any of you sell Peafowl or know somebody who does?

Thanks!

Roosters? Did I hear someone wanted roosters? Geez louise, I got them!

I have a Welsummer fella from Whitmore breeding that I am dreading having to put in the freezer, he is so nice. I have Marans roos growing up but I am not pushing them because I like the meat. I have several big black Langshans/JG crosses. I love the pullets and bred that cross for my laying flock but roos can go. Bantam Cochins anyone? I have like 30 of them in many different colors and patterns. They actually have very good breast meat but are such cute fellows they also do well in flocks. Frizzles, Sizzles and Silchins abound. Oh yeah, my EE roo is not available that I have growing up but I have many others and my main roo is headed for the freezer since he has attacked my shoe twice now. I don't tolerate that.
There are probably a few JG roos in blue or black but I am not selling those yet. I may keep a blue roo. I have Golden Cuckoo Marans roos that are gorgeous. I need to pen them and get them ready for the freezer but they are just so beautiful to me, I hate doing it.

I bet I got more, I just can't remember them right now.

Now in my experience, Silkie eggs take longer. Who knows! I have my first hatch going in the Genesis 1588. I did the actual incubation in my nice computerized one! I had 12 Wheaten Marans in lockdown and only 1 hatched.

Two had zipped but never came out. I'm really sad. But I did have 8 out of 9 Black Copper Marans hatch. But only 3 silkies out of 9. My Wheaten Ameraucanas are hatching now and I have one but two that are close. I can't tell the humidity on this machine and it's driving me crazy! But since the BCM hatched, I guess it's fine. Oh, well. Everything is still in there so maybe something might hatch!

Off to the farm. I think Jackie is coming to get a couple of hens.

ROOSTERS???? I always have extra roosters. Right now I have a beautiful Silver Laced Wyandotte Roo from last years hatch, a really pretty white wyandotte/americauna roo, buff orpington, dominique, white leghorn, black silkie, game crosses .....

Maybe you should tell us what you're looking for, I'm sure someone here has it!

LOL, look how many hands got raised for roosters! It's the downside of hatching eggs yourself.

Dom, I have 6 smooth Bantam Cochin mottles, (2 blue mottle, 4 black mottle) and 1 Columbian Bantam Cochin. The mottles are from eggs I bought from shelleyb1969 in MI, the Columbian from an ebay seller in TN. All are above average quality. 17 and 19 weeks old as of now, pretty friendly.

Here's the Columbian several weeks ago:

And some of the mottles:

I also have a Blue Hen of Delaware, (Delaware Blue Hen) rooster available for a good home. His name is Elwood and he is very good natured and friendly at 2 years old.
