And I will see Mary Bell tomorrow to pick up more fabulous honey! Her creamed honey is the best I have ever tasted. I am getting enough to put in raffle baskets at our Guinea Pig show down in Columbia this month. The big jar and a few little jars are for me!

Anyone have any neat ideas for raffle baskets? We have made them for so many years now and always get the best bids on them at shows. All money goes back into the club so we can pay the judges and rent the buildings.
DH makes one with eggs, cornmeal, dry beans and chow chow.
In August we always make one with peaches, a dz eggs and canned milk.
In Dec. we usually do one with chocolates.
Mostly I try to stay with egg themes since I have enough to share but it doesn't always work. I want to do baskets with the creamed honey, eggs and some type of bread but can't think of what kind. Maybe the little loafs of sweet wheat from BiLo?

Oh my gosh, I had the best visit with Nadine today.
she was so nice and very knowledgeable. she gave us some great ideas for tractors and small safe pens to build for my brood.
she had the cutest 4 little EE's. I'ms so excited to see how they grow up .. then for a special not expected little extra guy/gal.. a little tiny white Polish..ooooooh sooo adorable.

. I cant wait for its personality to come forward and figure out if hes a he or she.. Thank you Nadine the little polish was such a special treat for me..

Silly Duck Question: Do ducks have to have water (other than for drinking) to survive?

I had a great day today, enjoyed the beautiful weather and got to meet MadChickenLady! We had a really nice visit. Kate took some guinea eggs home, I couldn't talk her into anything else. I tried to convince her that she needs some bantams. She has better willpower than I do.

I agree with Nadine, there are some great people on this group. We're lucky to have so many chicken people in this area. Kate - I meant to ask you where you got your cute t-shirt? I loved it, just never got around to telling you.

I had another customer show up a little early and cut our visit short. He used the word "fanatical" to describe me - can you imagine?

Well, actually he described someone else as fanatical and then said that man had NOTHING on me!

Just an idea - What about a box of hot tea? I don't drink tea, but I think some people like to put honey in their cup of tea.

It does show a limit in your inbox. Look at the bar right above your message at the top of the page. It will show "Subject" and then message status __% in a gray bar.

And if you do not have this, I am sorry. I could have it because I am Golden Feather status.

If you do not have this then what I used to do was always try to keep my messages down to one page. I created a few folders over to the left under Inbox and sent and all that. I have folders for pending orders, new friends, egg hatches and other stuff.

Ummmmm......yes I do see that % thing now, don't know how I missed it before.

But I can only have 2 folders to save them in. I guess I need to upgrade to that Golden Feather status and maybe I can keep more messages. Thanks for the info.

Now those puppies are adorable! Can you train them to guard the chickens and not chase them? Seeing the puppies makes me want one.
