Ahhhhh baby BO's for sale................
droolin.gif
Yeah that would be aweful having uncontrollable children running around your place~ They do tend to get excited and want to touch everything, that's why I put mine on a leash! Haha That's really nice to do tours though it may be frustrating to have rude people come through from time to time. Hey I'll trade you two BO Roo's for two BO pullets

Haha hey it's worth asking!!

I have a feeling I have some girls broody that have not ever laid an egg either. Of course, I get so many bantam eggs, who knows who laid what.

The fire ants have migrated here in the last 15 years. They have slowly moved across America. I think it is South America's revenge.

I candled the 5 dz Guinea eggs the other night and half are developing. They need to hatch and get busy working on the fire ants. DH bought some granules but I do not like to use man made chemicals if I can avoid it. We will see how the summer progresses before I open the can and pour any into mounds. I do not want anything to hurt my birds, grass, weeds, soil or me!

Smart phone! Ha! I like what Joy said a few pages back about hers. She said it wasn't smart at all. It was stupid. Just like you said!

I have been pleased with my new phone and promised it a long life as long as it does as I say. Otherwise, it may become a wall target.

i just hit the jackpot. i will pick up 9 w b/w americuana hens, 1 wheaton cock,1 blue wheaton cock,6 black hens.1 cock, 3 blue hens,1 blue cock, 1 spl hen, 1 spl cock all show quaulity birds. am i lucky or what. amy i am getting them from gary up in salley

Hey you've been on craigslist! Lol. I think those birds were on there.

Oh and as for my little suckers I was reading another thread this morning and am going to use a drop or two of frontline on them vs. Rolling the birds in sevin dust for the lice. Stupid chickens. I have twenty-two chickens and I swear they are great about finding something that I have to treat them for. Bleh. I think I have bad luck.

In my experience I can not slip chicks under a Marans and have her accept it. Set up a brooder and take one of the babies from her and give your lonely one a pal. Otherwise you will never hear the end of it.
I always offer food and water right from the start. They often will eat and drink some. Mostly they like to play with food as it is natural for them to always be pecking at something. When underneath mama hen they are pecking at her feathers and feet, each others eyes and the nesting or ground.

Come see me anytime. It is a mad house here most of the time but there is a lot to see. Plan to spend about 2 hours. That is how long most first visits go when we walk around and look at all the birds.

If anyone needs little chicks, I have some buff Orps for sale. They came from Strombergs as I had someone wanting them but then backed out. I ordered pullets so chances are good. They are a week old and I think I have 4 or 5.

I no longer let anyone into my brooder room and soon may not allow tours around the pens. I get more and more visitors that will not control their children. And the other day actually had a grown man that was worse than any kid. He didn't seem mentally challenged but I began to wonder. They will not be allowed on my property again. I do not tolerate such rude and inconsiderate behavior. And then to be such novices (though one tried to tell me he had been big in chickens for many years.

) they had the gall to tell me I didn't know my breeds when I have raised and researched them. I was steaming, I assure you.

OMG the nerve of some people!

You do know your breeds, maybe he doesn't.

I would have to scare kids - even if I had to tell them Langs would eat them

. I would not tolerate them chasing or terrorizing my ducks or chickens. And would speak up to the parents, and if that did not work I would not hesitate to yell at the kid myself.

Maybe you need a sign........ like Unattended and out of control kids will be fed to the ducks.

or Please do not allow children to touch pens nor bother animals. I will not be responsible for missing fingers or pecked eyes.

ETA: I guess some people do not realize that kids and animals together can be asking for trouble.

Thanks, Amy! Yeah, this Marans seems a bit more "mama hen-ish" about her chicks than my BSL was. I have the brooder set up and am waiting for the temp to regulate. I just dipped its beak in water. Now I have to go get another chick waterer as my other is in the broody box. No biggie, but as TSC never has any-freaking-thing I need when I need it, I don't want to have to go running all over town looking for one.

My 8 year old is holding the chick and it just pooped on her!
