How do you thin your flocks and what do you do with the Roo's you can't or don't want to keep??? I am in such a dilema I can't keep these 2 Roo's yet I can't seem to find anyone that wants them either

Tiffany, unfortunately it is very hard to find home for the roos. They get such a bad rap! I have a local feed store that will take all the polish roos I have--I hate to take them there because I do not know where and to whom they go but I just have not been able to keep all the roos from my 3 hatching this year. I am keeping a few of the nicer ones to try to sell with some of my extra hens later in the year when people start buying again.

I want to thank everyone that helped me figure out the photo process!

It is so nice to be able to share my chicks! Actually I hatched these for my two year old daughter. She love feeding them! Of course I hatched the Silkies for her too! What a good excuse for hatching new breeds of chickens!!!

Guess I will be doing that then~ TSC said there is a guy that takes them there... I wanted to see them go to a nice home but I guess that's not possible. If you have any baby girls let me know

Tiffany, email me if you are serious as we will probably have a few extra hens. Not sure where you live, we are near Savannah. It will be a while before we decide but some of the girls will have to go.

RedBug ~ love your chicks! They are adorable.

Roosters are difficult to do something with. I used to have someone that took them but he doesn't anymore. Guess he got too many! I usually have to sell a hen or two with them.

In the last 24 hours we've hatched 20 silkies, 3 Wheaten Marans and 2 Ameraucanas. From my own stock! I love hatching my own eggs. Can't believe how great the fertility is! Now what to do with all of these chicks is the big question....
