South Carolina

Ok my fellow SC peeps. I have entered my Blue JG Elvis (thanks again Moonchild) in the Blue Brawl contest. Please help me win one for SC. Under the online poultry show, please vote for Elvis. I would realy be thankful. Hope you guys had a wonderful day.

All the little ones are out in their coop tonight. It was so much fun watching them scratch around in the pine shavings and then try to see how far they could run and fly. They just have a small roost for now (and they still can't quite get on it, but I think that will change in a day or two), but will have their larger, permanent roost in the next week or two. They will also have a run to go out in very soon. Here are some of the promised pictures. The first one shows the whole gang, including the two new Ameracaunas from Suzann at Huckleberry Farm. This was the best I could get of all nine of them!

These two were checking out dried mealworms for the first time

Little Nina decided that when you get tired, a human's leg is a good place to take a rest

They were all soooo curious as to what was happening outside. They are looking out of the hole that will eventually be their pop out door. Right know, we have hardware cloth over it to keep them inside.

While we were working, we gave them some time outside. We got to watch Lucy take her first dustbath

She got zero peace during her bath since the others wanted to eat the sand off of her!

Here is Lucy, our Silkie, maybe Silkie mix. Whatever she is, she is cute!

You bet!
I went through a lot trying to get those eggs for Yancy! I would take it as a big compliment if he won! Not my breeding but I have 2 of his blue brothers here and 2 black sisters. He deserves it since I think they are so B-U-T-ful.

Your last picture.......she may be a mix, but she looks to be silver partridge. Although she has what appears to be some red leakage. Some silkie breeders say that is the same as gray....but I have been breeding them for over a yr and they aren't

All of mine did have a lavender daddy who also carried the partridge gene.
