KEEP IN MIND THAT YOU SHOULD NOT EAT EGGS FROM TREATED BIRDS FOR 3-4 WEEKS It states on the bottle I'm pretty sure, but my feed store clerk and my vet said the same.

Okay... take a moment and do a happy dance with me....

My new Dickey's incubator is on the way! I might even have it tomorrow. Now I can hatch until my heart's content! I'm a teensy bit excited as you can tell. The model we chose has three hatching trays (each hold 96 chicken eggs) and a separate tray for hatching. I don't have *that* many eggs to hatch but at least I can hatch all I want now!

I used to pack mine full but now I am so tired of cleaning brooders that I hatch for a friend and try not to set too many for myself (This from a person that just set 3 dz today and have 5 more in route!

It is a lot of fun to see what pops out of her eggs and I get a "finders" fee! Oh well, it is any chicks or ducklings I want to keep from her. I have been nabbing her blue Ameraucanas when they hatch out and I may grab a few of her LF blue Cochins soon. Oh and some of her cute Silkies.....did I miss anything....no, I think that is all I have nabbed from her.

And a BIG thanks goes out to Jackie. She is my chicken stockbroker!

I wanted some Silkies that were advertised over her way and she went to look at them for me, took some photos to send me and is going back tomorrow to pick up a quad for me.

Thank you so much, Jackie! Do I pay you for your time with more chickens and eggs?

And now we know why you are giving up some of your laying hens-you need more room for babies! By the way, the two we got from you are doing great!

I'm so glad they're doing well! My husband and I sat down and figured out if selling eggs commercially makes any financial sense. Turns out it doesn't. We maybe are breaking even and it's a lot of work. A lot of work! We're just going to keep a few hens to give us and some friends eggs and focus on breeding. I'd rather spend a few hours admiring my silkies than washing and packaging eggs!

I think she said a while back that she'd work for duck eggs. Just saying.... Okay, now, spill the beans. What kind of silkies did you get?

I'll pretty much work for anything at this point that gets me away from the "I need a new ice pack, I need some water, I need another pillow". ah the joys of a broken leg on a man.

Amy, I think I need a new tag for BYC- Chickenbroker does have a nice ring! See ya tomorrow!
