Yes Thanks For sharing!!!
I really have to step up PumPum's little Palace cause I think the other chicks are not bonding with her anymore and she's alone in the group!!! Amy how's those eggs a comein???? And I think I need to treat my babies with Sulmet! Well PumPum is acting alittle weak, one minute playing and eating and all the chicken stuff then major nap time. Could be the heat or being left out of everything! Anywho I think she needs to be treated. I also think she will be ALOT better off away from the others! I think her house will hold about four hens, I gotta get to work on it! Well it's built, just gotta do the roof and paint then build the pen around it!!! Lots of work and working a full time job...URG ARG!!!!

Yancy, I have not candled the eggs but I will in another day or 2. They are due to hatch next week! I so hope there are lots of little monsters.....er, I mean babies, in those eggs! I bet they will be beautiful considering what the parents look like. But we can't count our chickies before they hatch.

Great article! Not too technical and not too general. Though I do not treat exactly the same way and do not use shavings until they are older. It is a horrid parasite and this info is a good read. Thanks for sharing the link!

That's what you have to love about all the BYC SC thread folks! Lots of great info and sharing!

Hey Everyone! It seems I haven't been on here in a while~ Been crazy busy trying to get some things done around the house and around the yard! Finally finished everything up out back and completed the coop. Haha I'm trying to hide my plants away from my chickens so they don't eat them all. So far so good for some of them!! but others went through a pecking frenzy. Now question, has anyone tried spraying a water and vinegar mixture on plants to make them distasteful to the chickens?? I know you would have to keep at it because the yucky taste would eventually fade with rain. Just curious if anyone has ever tried this method

And how about that AWESOME weather this weekend!!! I barely took 1 step inside~ it was so nice. Hope you all had a great weekend!

I must be reall lucky, my chickens dont eat anything in my garden except bugs.. they say in it all day.. the little flock use it as their shade,, ( the squash plants are huge and great big leaves)

I cant wait to see Amy Nadine's hatch-lings.. I'm so glad little PumPum is gonna have her own friends,,, they are so cute..

It would have to be a pretty strong mixture of vinegar and water for them not to like it. And then, you may get some that do not mind it especially since Kimberly's chickens liked drinking her coffee strong and black. Whew!
I am not sure how plants will take to vinegar mixture but you could try some and see. I was never as good with plants like I am with animals.

Good news.......again! I have my car home now. Bless it's little metal self. It still cost me $226 to get it back (the guy cut us some slack on the storage bill once we told him how poor we are.) Now I have to see how much to repair it. I am sure with as old as it is it will cost me as much as the car is worth but she is still driving nicely so I feel she is worth it. And don;t laugh, she is paid for, taxes and Ins is cheap on it, too!
