Just curious...the birds you're bringing aren't the "tractor chickens" are they??!?

gvilledh,
you should not have any problems other than stinky poo. I have not had too many chickens that moved around while riding. Now ducks, yes. But chicks and chickens are usually very quiet riders and lay down for a trip.

Well, I have been doing the Guinea Shuffle this morning! I had to move keet out of the brooder hutch and pressure wash it than move more keets into it from the brooder tub in the shed. I am beat and it is only 9:45. I am glad my human baby slept so long this morning.

Not sure if I ever gave the final update to the big keet hatch I had--out of 72 eggs only 5 had to be tossed! I did have to help the last two out but that was not a bad hatch. Now of course they are eating up a storm!!

Okay, I am envious! I want a pressure washer!
I turned my wire bottom brooder over in the coop the other day trying to clean it out and barely got it done. For one thing, there isn't enough room to turn it over well and I don't have enough water pressure from just the hose to blast the poop off the wire (it might help if I didn't have holes in my hose).

I guess I just need another barn with built in everything!

Stinky poo is the worst! I swear, as soon as I walk out to greet them, especially if I go into the run, 5 out of the 9 will decide it is the perfect time to do their stinky poo, right in front of me. What a greeting! At least now I know what it is and no longer panic when I see it!

Whadda, huh!? Why did you take the pullet to the feed store? Are you such an awesome mom that you let her pick out her own feed and treats?

No one, and I mean no one, tell my kids about this! Geez! I can see me showing up at a feed store with a truck full of chickens, ducks and Guineas chomping at the bit to look over the merchandise!

Oh you ain't seen nothing until you have a broody hen that gets off the nest once a day and does her business! It is almost as big as a pile of LGD doo and stinks so bad you don't even have to be within 10 feet to smell the stench!

they aren't the ones from the tractor. The ones I'm bringing have been raised in a stall in our barn and have a negative fecal sample

I promise I wont bring any coccidia with me

A pressure washer is great and ours has a bin so you can put soap or bleach in it too! Boy, does it make the job easier! If you lived closer I would loan it to you!
