South Carolina

Hi everyone,

I plan to be in Greenville area making honey deliveries tomorrow if I can schedule with everyone.
Amy I sent you an email.

If anyone wants honey, email me [email protected] or call 864-313-9946.
Better to reach me on my cell than home phone. My old answering machine

can be a pain.

I have a few blue orpington pairs if any one is interested. About 12 weeks old.
I have sold almost all of the ones I hatched this spring. Hatching can become a habit.

a nice habit!!

I have put several roos in the freezer. I have one more black orpinton roo (18 weeks old) that will go this week.
If anyone needs him, let me know. He will be real cheap.

On a sad note, I only had 2 lav. orp. pullets out of my hatch from HenThyme. One was really small almost bantam size.
I was not going to use her for breeding but did plan to keep her as a pet. I lost her this week. Someone had pecked her
on the head. She acted like she had brain damage when I found her. None of the others had ever bothered her, in fact some of the younger splits were just her size.

Rooster is crowing to much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone put him on a farm here in the upstate??? LOL I swear I'm going to get in trouble if he doesn't keep his beak closed! My neighbor was outside having a party yesterday and getting drunk and Beauty let out like 4 cocka-doodle-DO"S and I heard my neighbor hollar out~ yea we hear ya and he starts laughing... and says man your parrot is good he sounds like a ROOSTER

Poor Tiffany,
I hate to say it but roosters are overwhelming everyone. There aren't too many of us that don't have the same problem. Or like me, I have 50 extra roosters!
I hope someone can take him but your best bet would be to try the sale/swap in Irmo next Sat. or the one in NC a week or so after that. If you are lucky then maybe someone can give him a good home.

Have you tried Craigs List, Iwanna or the Market Bulletin?

But again, we are all trying to get rid of our extra roos. As much as I totally love some of mine, they still have to go to freezer camp and I know that while they were here they had a very good life. There is just not enough room on a farm for so many roosters.

Good luck!

OMG~ 50!!! That's alot of Roo's! You know I completely understand there is a booming population of Roo's and not enough homes. I'm just such a softy~ cause this one has totally won my heart over. I can swoop him up into my arms and just pet him and he just snuggles up to me and makes the sweetest little noises. I'm leaving in 3 days to go to Florida so I will be missing the swap~ otherwise I would try to go there. I did have an listing on Craigslist but that was about 2 months ago. Maybe I can give it another try. Thanks Amy I guess we all have to go through the hard part, that's life with chickens!

Amy Nadine, I was flipping through the TV channels last night and had to stop and stare at one. It was an infomercial for Proactive and there was this gorgeous celebrity stylist (or something like that) talking about it and her name was... Amy Nadine! Do you moonlight on TV and haven't told us?

Ah darn! Found out again!

Nope, if I was a celebrity or worked with them I would not be working so hard on the farm and struggling to make ends meet. All my chickens would have AC and little heaters in their coops. And I certainly would have employees!

Maybe it is one of those clones I so badly wanted. Maybe my clone left me for greater works!

How odd that my off the wall name is shared by another! Mine came from Daddy being over seas during WWII and hearing those names. He named my sister Nedra. Ever heard that one? I actually saw it once in credits on TV or at the movies.

Dag gone, I looked her up and she has money and beauty. She stole my name considering I am just a few years older than she is! That is funny. I swear I have had this name for about a half a century so it was mine first!
