Apologies for not being on here in so long (as if ya'll knew), but this summer has been EXTREMELY busy for me and my family. The garden has run us ragged, but we have a TON of food put up. Anyway, I wanted to let you all know our exciting news...we just got our first egg.

I write this blog for my out of town family to keep up with us, so there's not very many chicken posts on it...this is probably the only one. I did want ya'll to see my little girls' excitement though. Only other chicken people would understand

Plus, I wanted Amy to see her babies and how much we love them.

We have 15 Corel blue Guineas, they are 11 weeks today. We are letting some of the flock out to free range with the chickens, under our supervision. It is usually from about 7pm - 8pm or so. They preety much stay near the run and house. Seems when they start to range with the chickens, they inside crew calls them back. So far 3 have flown up on the barn roof, but they dont stay up long. We are giving them at least 4 more weeks before trying the free range, but it will depend on their size.

Unfortunaltly, we have no way of identifying the birds, so we dont really know if all of them get the free range time. We just run several, up to 7 out, at a time. The ones left inside the house/run, dont get to go out that night.

As far as how fast they move, OMG, and as for the Noise

ear plugs are a must, for the 1st year, now I understand that statement.

oh funny thing just happened.. well the guy on the phone didn't think it was funny he got really mad at me..

apparently I have a $15.00 balance at ht doctors office. where my son goes every 3 months.. so they sent this $15 to collections.. and I laughed at him he got all huffy and demanded money today over the phone.. I told him no Ill pay it in person on the 27th of this month when I go for our appointment. oh well that really mad him mad and the madder he got the more I laughed and then he started yelling that this call is being recorded.. I said that's fine.. Ill say it again. Ill pay at my regularly scheduled appointment on the 27th... finally I just said have a great day got to go bye .. I hung up and he was litereraly screaming at me on the phone..

he must get paid by commission's for each one that he gets to pay over the phone.. darn the guy needs a valum.. for sure.. I didn't get that mad when I found my $300.00 smart phone swimming in one of the kids cereal bowls of milk.. and the insurance on that has run out.. wait I took a valum maybe that's why I wasn't mad??? hahahhaha

just thought it was funny.

I did take my laptop but we never slowed down! We stay so busy there and love every minute(I really,really reccomend Jekyll if you have never been)! I would try and catch up in the evenings but usually crashed from our day!We are already planning our trip at christmas if we dont go back sooner! Unfortunatly it looks like there will be no way for me to go to chickenstock...got the Bday party...

...now Im sad...need more chickens...lol

I am losing my mind. I had to call dr this morning and reschedule my appt. I thought it was today at 320. It was yesterday

I have been thinking it was the 23rd all month long.

Maybe I need a vacation.
