wow what a great day.
.. after I got UN-lost... that took about and hour of time.. but I know for next time. the weather was perfect couldn't ask for better..
well lets see.... Kris and Robert.. saw the Dobie van but never saw ya'll
at it to go over and introduce my self ,, mom and son .. beautiful van, sorry I missed ya'll. maybe at a local gray court event we'll meet up...
Amy As always sooo great to talk with ya.. I cant believe that Midas's bro's didn't sell like hot cakes they are so beautiful.
and the ducks, I really expected more ducks to be sold. lots of ducks there but wonder how many total sold??
I got 4 Ameracauna's pullets from Debbie.. they are settled in and figuring out the perfect roost positions,
I got a trio of Blue Giants month old, beautiful but ya know I don't remember the mans name that I bought them from, and I got a trio of blue wayndottes.. same age, same seller,, I am really excited about these little guys..
then Colton put in raffle ticket for the BB bantams ( bronze backed bantams) ( i beleive) and WON !!! oh gosh did he take to them, he had them riding on his lap all the way home, their sooo little I thought the polish were small... Nope these have them beat..
then we won the TSC gift card and chicken goodies, Yeahhhhh love this one...
then we won the Barred rock pair. get them home and she is not a barred rock but a Dominique.
. not a problem she'll fit right in... the Rooster has has name already,,, Benny,,,, I have them settling in, all the girls were very interested in them .
I was blown away by the shear numbers of bantams that were there of all different breeds and colors, styles,,
silkies were fantastic, the frizzle/sizzles were adorable. had to keep pulling my mom away from them, she really like the frizzled,. she is as bad as I am on chicken math... but I was really surprised that with all the silkies there no black and white crested polish or any others polish.. ( except debbie found a buff polish), several game breeds Id never seen in person before that was cool oooh and the oh shoot their name.. the brown cornish.. they were beautiful, came real close to getting them, than goodness someone else thought the same thing and bought them before I did.. ( oh that chicken math)
loved the different breeds of turkeys,.. maybe down the road?
oh and I saw in person my first Turkens.. hahah so ugly the are cute.. but I am holding out for showgirls one day.
I had to do some rearranging in the coop to make room for the new flockers.. so I took my EE's Sookie, golden and Uncle Daddy to my moms to the peacock coop. and then the 4 polish to a smaller peacock coop,... We'll of course Sookie loves to roost high and apparently 5 foot roost ( set for the peacocks) wasn't high enough and found a hole in the top and she and golden ( midas's love) are on top of the 12 ft tall coop.. so gonna have to do something about that tomorrow..Midas was happy as a clam to have his love of his life back with him.. he danced and strutted and dug dirt bathing holes.. he pulled out every trick in the roosters handbook to wooo her.. she was unimpressed..
when we got home I had my first brown egg.. yeahhhh
I tell ya, by next spring, I should be rolling in eggs.. by golly
my chicken math is up and running I set out to get only 2 or 3 ameracauna pullets and came home with 11 new little flockers.
so all in all we had a wonderful time, had some good luck, came home with many many more than intended. but hey Im happy..
thanks to all that I got birds from and we will go to more chicken stocks in the future and highly recomend to everyone to go too
thank you to everyone who made the day possible... we had a very good time..
