HELP somebody - I need math/calculation help for medication. I have a sick pheasant and all I have to give him is Duramycin-10. The instructions say 200 - 400 ml per gallon per day. How on earth do I measure this? Is this a half teaspoon, teaspoon, tablespoon? Anybody have any idea?

Okay, I estimated and came up with something like almost 2 teaspoons per gallon. I hope this is good, if I'm way off somebody let me know so I can dump the water and start over.

I recall from baby bottles that 7 ounces is almost exactly 200 ml. Hope this tidbit helps.

The point of all of this is... go a google search and type the following

200ml to tbsp

and the search result will be

200 ml = 13.5256091 US tablespoons

just as a complex example...
"200ml +15 oz +1cup in tbsp" gives us
(200 ml) + (15 oz) + (1 US cup) = 59.5256091 US tablespoons

try other calculations and conversions, additions multiplications etc. Way too Cool.

I think the powder dosage for duramycin-10 is 1 tsp/gal of water for 200mg dose (New batch must be made daily)

Quick update before I zonk for the night. Mom is home. She spoke with me for a minute. I'll get all the details in the morning, but she did say she thought she was going to die for several minutes there. Mom said the "interesting drugs" made for some pavement markings doing "weird things" on the way home. I wonder if she'll remember that later, lol.

Ummmmm.....well thank you BOTH very much!

But I believe that I failed to mention that I am a blond girl.

Sooooooo.......what exactly does that mean, what would the dosage be for a gallon of water? I mean the directions aren't very good. What it says is that the 6.4 oz package will make 25 gallons of 400 mg so I divided that and came up with .256 oz per gallon. My conversion chart tells me that 1/2 oz = 3 tsp so I guessed that 1/4 oz would be about 1 1/2 tsp. Is this anywhere close to right? I just need to know how much to put in for a gallon of water.

My head hurts.

Joycats, I think your measurement of one and one-half teaspoons per gallon is correct. If it must be made daily, you might try making a half gallon.
