there you go, You just had to through a chicken integer into the equation. Now I'm all messed up. LOL
thats a bueaty you have. You say your Holland is a bit smaller than a BR. So I'm guessing it's about the size of a Dominique?
A quick chicken math question. When you have too many chickens is that a half equation or are still only about 25% done? It's so complicated.

sorry don , nope your not done... I have a Barred Holland and plan on getting 25 more this spring..

they are on the critical list and I LOVE MINE..

better personality than even my BR which I think are great.. barred Hollands are white egg layers, they are just a tad smaller than my BR's, get alone with EVERYONE.. she lays everyday.

she thinks shes a dog and if I don't close the door in time she'll come on in the house.. the barring inst as dark as the BR.. more of a silver/grey bar instead of the black bar against the white. single comb..
she holds her tail just a bit different than the BR girls. this is Jett - barred Holland

Well, the rain has stopped and yes, the chickens did survive! They are already dry! It really is nice we got some rain!

On another chicken note, I got another egg yesterday from my bbred hen. She had layed one egg when I first got her and stopped. I am so hoping for some more! DH wants the incubator to remain off until spring but I can not waste OEGB eggs! Right? Is this more chicken math? OEGBs are small and do not take up as much room as LF chickens right? Is there a different equation for bantams than LF chicken?

I'm sooo excited. I get to go back to Susanne's Farm and pick up some silkie babies.

I have had them on my mind since I left her farm.

I think I got a bad case of chicken math going on. I might need some help.

Yes, chickens are a problem. And silkies are a definite problem. Wait until you have a couple and then want more... and more colors.... and more.... But they're so great! See you tomorrow.

Severe allergic reactions are totally scary - no matter how many times you have them!

Which is a couple of times a year at least, for me.

Mine always starts with itching somewhere. I pretty much have my reactions down so I know about how long after the itching starts before I can't breathe. Terrified is when you can't find the Epi-pen after the itching starts.

Yes.

Bantams do not count at all
lau.gif
I never count the OEGs.

My bantams that lay, are only counted as half a chicken due to the size.

This means I only own 2 silkies & 2 LF

not the 50+ total someone claimed to have counted.

It is funny, my DH is going to remove the back deck off the house and build a covered porch--all I can think about is all that treated lumber in the old deck/porch that I could make hutches out of!! Ok, a covered porch would be nice, especially for the baby to play on but lumber for a hutch!!
