South Carolina

Hello all. I hope everyone is having a wonderful morning. I hope one of you can help me. I'm looking for a member of BYC that breeds different colors of Orpington chickens. I wish I would have saved the site but.......... We all know how that works. Once again thanks for the help in advance.

Congrats Debi!!!! And by the way, of the three hens I got from you, the one that was so broody - her eggs are a beautiful blue, but I'm not getting any right now. My son decided to put her in the pen with his Silkies and breed her to his Silkie roo to get more broodys. I told him he was going to get frankenchicks. Well, she hatched out five little cuties. I'll try to post pictures as soon as I get a chance - got to find my camera because it's just not working out getting the photos from my phone on here -. But the wierd thing, one has five toes like a silkie, and the others have 6 toes. Frankenchicks.

I know that Southern Bee Lady here in SC has blue Orpingtons but I am not sure if she breeds other colors besides that. She probably knows others that do.

LOL Which breed? I find roosters to be so gorgeous, which is why I always have too many. I am taking about 16 up to the NC show on Sat. I don't want to put them in the freezer because they are just too nice. If they come back home they will go to freezer camp because I have extra roos in about every breed I own.
I have a very nice blue copper Marans roo growing up and a gorgeous Foley bred BLRW, a pretty EE roo, several extra Cochin project roos, a new Frizzle roo, an extra d'Uccle roo and many others that are just here in case! LOL
And I have extra male ducks for the in case, too but ducks are so much easier to live with then chickens.

Well, back outside to continue winterizing everything. Cold front coming through tomorrow!

There is a young man somewhere out of Ridgeland that sell a number of different types of laying hens. You might try calling Jasper Feed & Seed and see if they have any idea or phone numbers of people with hens. There number is 843-726-8673 -- they are in Ridgeland(Jasper Co.)but close. If Emptynester sees this post she might know someone as she is in Beaufort Co. herself. I really do not know too many people over there with birds. Good luck!

I have read this a few times and still laugh until I cry every single time!!! It is freakin hysterical and I'd love to meet the person who actually did this. Of course I'm pulling for the deer the whole time I'm reading. Thanks for sharing
