Well - not to nit pick, but did she say Splash from her splash pen, and buff from her buff pen? Or was it just 12+ Splash & Buff silkie eggs? She should have specified in the listing that the birds were separated, and each variety was in its own pen.

I just got a reply back from the lady. I sent her a pic of what I got. She said the silkies are a dark partridge and a buff partridge.

I will just consider it a learning experience.

Buff partridge? New one to me, but IDK nothing about people's experiments. They should have been sold as such though.

It is not called Dark Partridge.........it is just Partridge. Blue partridge is a project color.

Point is - she sold you buff eggs, blue & splash eggs. That is what you should have gotten. Not mutts. I would be pretty ticked.

My Silkies all came from Bobbi and Karen Larson (Catdance) originally. My lavs came from Bren in TX and Catdance. Don't pay for shipping. Just come on down here!

Buff partridge.... there's a seller that doesn't know what they're talking about. I'd love for you to PM the name. Some partridges are more gold than others. Maybe that's what they mean.

Bobbi's are actually pretty reasonable since they are $62 for 2 doz. including shipping. I believe I read that on her website.

I ordered eggs, not birds. I feel better about spending money on hatching eggs now that I have a better incubator. I've been waiting a long time to order too. It was definately a splurge and I probably shouldn't have done it but......they'll be shipped out Monday! So, I'm beside myself with anticipation. Congrats on the new car! What'd you get? I hate having a car payment so the last car I bought brand new is the car I'm still driving (2001 Jeep). I plan on it lasting me at least another 20 years or so.

Yep, that's right. I had to add $2 for Paypal fees so it's $64 for 2 doz eggs. Not bad if I can get a decent hatch. I've seen her birds in person, they're beautiful. I feel better about ordering since I know I will be getting quality birds.
