You can put it on your garden in the Fall for planting in spring. That's what a lot of people do. It decomposes all winter and they till it into the soil before planting. A lot of mine is dry when I shovel it out. It's mixed with shavings too. I wouldn't put it directly on new plants but some people use it when sowing a new lawn and it works well like that too. And yes - I charge $5 a bag. Gotta make every penny I can to feed those chickens.

How big are the bags you sell? Is it mixed with other dirt?

I recycle the 50# feed sacks and fill them almost full. Probably 3/4 of the bag full, that's all I can lift. Some of it might have dirt mixed in it, just whatever the chickens kick into the coop. But mostly it's just poop and shavings from the coop floor and nest boxes. I do tell people it will burn their gardens if they use it right away. Most people are very glad to have it.
I don't think it's cold at all! I was out yesterday morning just in a thin cardigan and thought it was wonderful. Came in and check the temp and it was 45! Guess I like cold weather.
This is my view this morning at the farm. So pretty I had to share.
