I have three kennels that we bought at Lowe's. I use them for silkies. They have a small little coop in there from Petco. Works fine. Mine are 10 x 5 x 6. They even made it through our horrible storm unscathed. I thought they would have blown off for sure!

Hmmmmmm. I went as a spectator last year - so going by that - doors open at 6 and cooping in has to be done by 9........that is when judging starts.

I so wanted to put my fave black silkie girl in - but she still has too many pin feathers - and a little bald still from moulting.

Clemson Show!

seams like fall is a bad time for all these shows... seam like alot of molting would mess things up for alot of people.

I dunnow, I think it depends on if you are showing or selling. Our swap in Augusta went great. I estimate 85% of the birds brought found new homes. I think weather and location are the most important factors.

Tetra Tints are a mixed breed bird made by a hatchery. You can look up the thread here on BYC as many got theirs from TSC as chicks. They are like our sex links, just mixed breeds that lay well. But Tetra Tints are from one hatchery only and I think it was Ideal but it could be a different one. I forget. The things hatcheries can get away with, geez! I would love to mix up some breeds and call it something special and rare and still maintain a decent reputation.

This time of year acorns are very helpful for deer hunters and maybe even turkey hunters. My chickens will eat them some but not a lot.

I was told by someone (can't remember who) that they were made for TSC only. They looked like EE as chicks.

That might have been on the thread I read, too. I can't remember much about them as the photos of them that I saw were white chickens and they laid a brown egg much like sex links do. Didn't sound like anything I wanted so I did not read much further.

Hope you get a good turn out. The weather looks like it will be nice. A couple of us ladies are going to the Clemson show so I know we won't be down that way but I am sure others that live closer will make it. There should be some good chicken selling going on this Sat. all over SC!

I'd love to go to a 'real' show one day --- I've never been to one. I know y'all will have a blast.

This dealie at Outdoors Unlimited is SO last minute, it will probably be just me (and Tom --- Sat is his b-day and sitting in the feedstore parking lot is NOT his idea of a good time).

LOL
I can understand him not having a great B-day doing this but it is Jackie's B-day, too and she is looking forward to buying herself lots of great presents! Kimberly, Nicole and I will be cheering her on! We are nothing if not a bunch of enablers!

Happy B-day to Tom! Maybe the Birthday fairy will give him something great before the day is out!

I really would like some more kennels! I am glad we do not have too much of a wind problem. Most of the time the wind blows through here one direction--but we are coastal and do get those hurricanes....
Oh, the wire above the water is solely to keep the guineas from roosting on it. This is our pen of coral blues! These were this years babies!
