Put the hen with Rascal!
Put the young cockerel with Cowboy's sister!
Put Cowboy with your best mottled hens.

See what I did there? PROBLEM SOLVED.

ROTFL
I want that beautiful hen in with so many roos I am not sure which way to go with her! I probably will go ahead and put her with Rascal and his girls but was hoping to pair her first with someone to see what hatches specifically from her so I can get an idea who would be best. Rascal is certainly a handsome dude but his son, which I was hoping to show you the other Sat., is fantastic. But he is another one what has only a tiny bit of white mottling. I will have to get some photos of him. To be so young, he is really a nice fella.

The young roo has what I need for all my really dark Mottled girls so I need to free a pen up for him and them. I would love for him to add some white to those girls' offspring. They are nice girls but even bred to my Mille Fleur bantam Cochins they are not giving me the colors I am looking for. So this little roo will be a great addition to that but I do not have a free pen at the moment. I suppose I need to move some kids out of a grow up tractor and use that.

Now Cowboy happens to be with a mix of bantam Cochin hens again. Bless his heart. He needed girls and I realized I had a pen for him but again, not my best Mottleds so I have to rearrange them yet again. Always new breeding pens here at the farm!

Yup, I knew you would point me in the right direction. I just wish I could do it all at once! I can't wait to get eggs from all these crosses!

I volunteer you to come to my house and help me build more!

Actually, I really do not want more. DH does a lot of my watering and counted 40+ water containers he had to fill or check each day. And he thought my work at home job was easy!

Oh, hon! I am right there running that chicken fever with you!

Actually, I have someone coming in about an hour to pick up a lot of grown birds from me but I also have chicks pipping in the hatcher.
Yup, it's a sickness!

I was looking at my mottleds last night and still don't know whether I kept the better hen or not. She is really wide across her back, very heavily mottled.....just bigger and slightly longer. Better leg color. Both had all toes.

Probably was a toss up.....maybe in Spring we can compare again! Lol

Ok so my awesome Dad came this week and helped put up the aviary netting on top of my 10 x 30 run and cut a hole in my coop and put a dog door in there. This morning, I not only locked myself in the coop, but had to shove 11 ticked off chickens and 2 ticked off guineas through the pop door- to find out my dumb a@@ left the human door to the run open! OMG I have PREGNANCY BRAIN ALREADY!!!!

OMG...That soooo sounds like my daily life!! I blame it on all the platinum blond I have growing in!!

There is no way I could be prego and doing this...I spent both of my pregnancies rearranging my house daily...and I mean switching entire rooms to other rooms and moving the stove and fridge because I did not like my kitchen!! LOL

If I had been a chicken owner those poor birds would have been sleeping somewhere new evey night!! LOL

Notice how I said my dad and not my DH- b/c I'm pretty sure he's going to kick me out of the house if I move the cat food or the towel racks or the dining room table again. And we're having a party tomorrow night so I already wanred him we're moving the Christmas tree tonight
