Congrats on selling the house! And congrats on the new puppy! Can't wait for pix.

And welcome to mobile home living. Have you had a chance to decorate it for Christmas?
Next year you will probably be in your new house and this small trailer will be only a memory so have fun "camping" now.

You never know how much space you really need until you do not have any. We live in 1800 sq ft now and still need more room. Of course, if I didn't have Guinea Pigs, 2 brooders, 3 incubators and 8 tubs of meal worms in here we would have way more room.

Yay for closing! I know that it is a relief to have it done and behind you!
Congrats on your Big, little puppy LOL Around here dogs are like potatoe chips, we can't have just one. I am looking forward to stories about Spartacus as he grow up.

Congratulations Susanne! Lots of excitement in your life right now. Enjoy the puppy, they sure are adorable pups. Mine were 3 months when I got them, they grow FAST! Like, right before your eyes fast. I hope he grows into his job in a hurry. I think mine would have done better if I'd only gotten one at a time. Together they get into twice as much trouble and only listen half as much to me. But I can tell you, just having them around to bark at night really helps a lot too.

congrats on the closing. thats a bit of a breather.. and your new addition to the farm family.

Im, afraid that Midas my big cochin roo I got from Amy broke his leg. Not sure letting him rest a couple of days in a cage. I think the roost was too high and he broke it when he jumped down. well be moving the roost lower. I jsut hate it that he got hurt. hes soo beautiful and suck a nice rooster.. but hopefully he will mend. Gloria did but she was much younger and lighter in weight.

hope everyone is doing good and having a good holiday season so far.

He's a very sweet bunny. We have 2 bunnies and they're both litter box trained. I have to watch them really close when they are out because they can climb like cats and they chew on EVERYTHING! (Especially electrical cords)

Oh my, we're on page 2 again. Maybe when the Christmas rush is over, we will get time to talk chickens a lot more.

Farm Life Fulltime

I had a good day at the Greenville State Farmers Market yesterday. Next Sat will be the last day for the local farmers until April 2012.
I wish it was managed like the other two markets in the state. One of my pet peeves.

I am going to try to get the silkie coop finished this week. Only have roof and wire to finish.

He might! I have a blue Wheaten roo that has hobbled around on one leg for months. We almost put him down but he seemed like he was able to get to the food and water and the other boys left him alone. In the last few weeks, he's starting to actually use that leg. So you never know! Hope it heals quickly.
