Sounds like everyone had better weather than Pickens. It was cloudy, cold and even rained lightly for a couple of hours.

I have a water system for my chickens that I always drain and shut down before the first mid-20's night. I switch to gallon waters thru the winter. One night this week we were only supposed to get down to 30 deg. It was 25 deg. when I got up. Needless to say, one of my spring projects is replacing most of the water line around the chicken coops.

On a happier note--my silkie chicks that I hatched the last couple of months are getting so pretty. I love to sit and watch them when I get a few minutes.

I would just like to say...That since the young roosters are gone, Peace in the backyard is AWESOME!!!!!! But I lost Lucy to the roo....She still likes me, but HE(the butt) has her heart. BOO Plus now he wants to fight me..Geesh Big Bleu U have the whole yard and all the girls...CHILL!!!! LOL

I worked my tail off all morning so I could drive kidzilla and the new dog to PetSmart for a small shopping trip and it rained on us!

But once back home I was able to do afternoon chores with no rain and rearranged a few birds.

Here is my chocolate, blue slate, coral blue and some lavenders. I took this yesterday so you can see the chocolate is darkening up a little (okay, I notice it but you guys probably do not.

) and the slate blue has lost more of her red coloring, the blue corals are magnificent and my lavenders are still just as pretty!
