Did you get to meet Gayle? She is very nice and I really enjoy talking to her about her turkeys. Haven't been to her farm yet though so I'm jealous. Sounds like a fun day.

What a wonderful day! Beautiful babies and I'm so jealous of your big, working dogs! Congratulations! We had the rain shower here but it wasn't too long and the sun came back out. A beautiful day and I would like a repeat tomorrow.

It didn't rain here at all today. It just started pouring a few minutes ago. I hope the babies are okay!

I'd love some turkeys. One of my laying hens got out of the run today and the guineas seriously attacked her. I hope it will be different with turkeys. I was shocked at how vicious they were. I guess I'd have to wait until the turkeys were big to let them roam. I really want some.

I am personally very excited about the new site changes. I haven't found BYC to be very easy to navigate. I look forward to more search capabilities and most important unlimited email space so I can save my messages! Just yesterday I was looking for a specific breed in the Breeds thread but there's 800+ pages to look thru, they're not in alphabetical order and when I do a search it searches the whole site so I still had to look through pages and pages of stuff. I hope they change that part of the search.

Spent 1 1/2 hours there with her learning and listening. Beautiful birds, still trying to make decisions on what we are doing. probably placing a porters order then getting some of her eggs too. loved the place and VERY friendly people and birds.

Susanne, the guineas will not mess with the turkeys! Turkeys make great watch dogs in the yard too. I'm really hoping that mine stay as sweet as they are through spring mating season. If so, I'll be keeping more. They are probably opposite of the guineas personality in that they are always underfoot. They seem to always want to be right with me when I'm in the yard. I had a customer today and the turkeys went right up to him to greet him. Tom had to show his tail feathers and his snood.

I gave them all pats on the head and they were satisfied to just follow us around. Very unusual birds.

She raises her turkeys for meat, is that what you're thinking of doing?
