South Carolina

Hello SC BYC,
I have not been here in a while. WOW at the changes.
Amy and Susanne are the only ones I have met in person from this site but I feel like I know a lot of you through your post. I've had some bad health news lately. I been told I have pressure built up on my brain which in turn has affected the optic nerves in my eyes. It is giving me bad headaches and blind spots. I ask that y'all pray for me and my family. Believe it or not my chickens have been my saving grace. I go sit with them and it truly makes me feel better. Amy and Susanne my silkies have a speacial place in my heart. I can go sit in their pen and they all cuddle around my feet or in my lap so thank you for such special birds.

Robin,
I remember you mentioning some issues going on when you were here and have kept you in my prayers but I will give more attention to your new issues. I am so sorry that you are having to go through this but you are a great person and God is still smiling down on you. The birds are lovely pets and give without asking much in return.
Have a blessed day!

Thank you for the prayers! Had a MRI yesterday and did not show any tumors in the brain. i'm on meds that make me sleepy and will go to a Neurosurgeon on Monday. Im hopping we can get through this with no surgery.

Definitely are praying for no surgery and the meds can do the thing for you! Spring is coming and your birds will be full of fun and surprises and wanting to hatch you many babies. That gives you so much to think about and keep your mind on more interesting things than this problem.

Thank you, sweetie pie, huney bunch! I swear this was not there yesterday when I went into this very same field! The other stuff was but not how to turn off ads. You must have kicked some rear to get it in there for me!

Two exciting pieces of news today! I just picked up 12 little chicks from the post office. I decided to branch out into a new breed... Cream Legbars. I love the fact that they are autosexing so you can tell a boy from a girl at birth. And they lay blue eggs. Hope I don't kill them! I have 9 little girls and 3 little boys. And I've just become the South Carolina Rep for the American Silkie Bantam Club. So that's all good...

Now if that danged appraisal would just come in.

Great going, Susanne! On both things!
I have read a bit on Cream Legbars but can't handle more breeds right now. I am so trying to focus on what I have now plus trying to research up on breeding the Muscovy and how to get Turkeys to survive.
I know you are excited about the Cream Legbars though and please keep us up to date on how they do.
SC didn't have a Silkie rep before, did it? You are the first?

Come on appraisal!!!!!

I posted a few pics of the mansion and some of my girls, will have more soon. We have a manajerie(sp)? I love that there is more variety than I can possibly ever have. I currently have 13 hens 9m0-1.5 years...comet, B.rock, RIR, Black Sex link, leg horn, easter eggers and I REALLY want a trio of serama!
