Oh, I was doing the happy dance yesterday! One of my BC Marans laid her first egg! Not as dark as I would have liked but it is still pretty! My one Gold Laced Cochin pullet I kept this season also laid her first egg yesterday. I know this because she keeps crawling under the wire into the guinea pen and she is the only hen in there.

Yippee! Hopefully your other Marans will see that and start laying, too. And they hopefully will lay darker than she does. There are always some lighter laying girls than I like and I either sell them or put them in my free range flock.

I am getting a crele oegb trio! Whoot! I've been wanting a crele serama but they've been so pricey even for poor quality pattern and I am getting a beautiful oegb trio! Thr male is quite a looker.

these are going to be my first oegb.

I love crele anything!
When they started showing off those crele bantam Cochins I only peeked and then ran like the dickens because I knew I would want some!
This year I am trying not to add anything new but already want some dark Cornish in LF and bantam. Those bantams we saw at the last show were so freaking adorable!

My oegb are my favorites! They have such big personalities. I love the crele coloring too! Congrats and I can't wait to see pics!

I am bummed now with trying to upload pics. I wanted to show off my eggs and some baby silkies that just hatched and I can not get this thing to upload my pictures. So I will not share right now....

So I do not understand the public part. Do we have to upload pictures in another place? And what does it mean by public? I am now confused....

I haven't found if you upload pics to another place but all you have to do to add a pic to a post is click the little icon that looks like it has a house on it. It's in the "toolbar" of the box where you type new posts. If you hover the mouse over it it says insert image. All you have to do is click it and select what image from your computer you want to add. I don't know if that was helpful at all!

Well, it was here some where....
The eggs on the right is the Marans and the new cochin eggs is the one on the left. Not all that much darker but the two birds that laid the eggs are about the same size and you can see the Marans egg is bigger already!

Yes, it did work but I did not find it easy to put any writing with it. Guess I will have to practice! Yaaa, that means more picture (well, maybe).

Looks like you figured it out. I haven't had a problem loading photos but that is about all I know how to do.

And was it me, or was it crazy cold today? I thought I would never get those chores done and get inside. And naturally, the birds think that just because it stays light til after 6 pm they can hang around out in the cold.
I am going to take a hot shower and get my jammies on. DD is cooking cornbread and I made a big pot of beans today. Good cold weather food. I think I will plop in front of the TV tonight.
