I want to go on a road trip and visit peoples farms! I think mine might be way more of a road trip though! I wish Lydia was older, she and I could go visiting!! We have this big old Motor Home we bought used to go out west when Lydia was 6 months old and see my family--who all live in Oregon and Washington. If I wasn't so afraid of driving that thing just think of what Lydia and I could do during the week when DH is working! Do you guys have parking for a Motor Home? I am sure there are some KOA or something up there but we have no way to tow a car so we would still have to visit with the thing and it is a boat! The funny things we think of sitting in front of the computer at 7:00 in the morning!!!

I am so with you. Every time someone on here announces a new birth, I think about jumping in the car to see the babies. Although if I did that my son would never get any school work done. He would be pleased with that.

Amy, I thought of you as I went outside this morning into the frosty yard! I do know if it is cold out here it is really cold up there! I hope you and your birds are surviving this nice weather! I hope everyone and their birds are surviving this newest cold snap!!

I sold both as I had some in all ages. The free rangers always cooped up with the chickens or in the grow up coop so I called them in, closed the door and grabbed them as they stood at the door wanting back out. I would not sell the girl you gave me or my first Guinea boy so those stayed.
The keets were in the grow out brooders in the coop so I had a harder time because when I opened the lid to catch one others would fly out but the coop door was closed so I was able to net the escapees and either put them in the sale cage or back in the brooder cage to keep. I knew I wanted to keep the pied since that was the only one I had and there were some small ones I hung on to so they would have a better chance here and I have since added them to the free range flock.

I have 9 in the free range flock now and 14 in my breeding pen. The free rangers still come inside at night to sleep.

Bring the motor home on! I built the entrance to my farm to master a horse trailer as we did a good bit of showing when we first moved out here. We had a truck and stock trailer so I recessed the gate in the driveway.
And we used to have our dog show friends come up with motor homes but that was back when we had electricity in the barn. They used to plug right into the outlets next to the horse stalls.
It has been disconnected now because we were getting taxed for it so we just run a drop cord down to the barn now for brooder lights. MOF, that drop cord has been across my backyard for about 6 years now. Wow!
It is fairly easy to drive onto my place and there is the whole front pasture to park in and turn around. I have very few trees in the way and no power lines to snag across our property either, all underground.

I don;t know why I am so bloomin' cold lately. My fingers are like ice and though I had on several layers this morning I thought I was going to freeze to death. I am sure it is old age and I have gained a bit of weight (again) this winter. I love the sun being out and pulled out all my tools to inspire me to build the roof top that I have been wanting to finish for ages. I still have 2 new duck coops to finish, another d'Uccle house to finish and the shed has yet to be painted though I have had the paint for almost a year now.
Too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter, too wet in the spring and fall. I think I am making excuses. I am beginning to sound like my other half. I think I have been married too long!

Oh, and don;t feel bad about seeing the new stuff on here. We are all still getting used to it. There are probably a lot of bells and whistles yet to find. I just don't have time to catch it all and I am sure you don't have time either. A year from now this wil all be just a memory and we won't remember all the troubles we had learning the new stuff.

Me, too! I turn on the computer after I let the chickens out in the mornings usually and then leave the tabs on all day since I am in and out so much. The only time during the day I may not be on is when DH "accidentally" logs me out. After 17 years of sharing a computer and he still can't leave my browser alone. I often have 7 tabs going at the same time

You can see who is viewing? LOL I"m all searching all over trying to find it and WALLA! there it is.. just me and lauren peeking in it seems...

That is the ones that are just viewing the SC thread. I was over on the hatching thread drooling over the yellow barred Cochins when I saw a new message pop up in my email tab so I clicked over there and saw you had just posted on this thread. I try to keep up when I am in the house. I try not to be in here too much as the housework is such a nasty job so spend as much time outdoors as possible. I did get half of the roof done on the little pen and got a few pens watered that have those 5 gallon buckets but now need to vacuum where I track in so much from outside. And still my house is gross!
