I have set them after they sat on my buffet table for 4 weeks with barely being touched or turned. I assure you that a week and a half is nothing.
The ONLY time I keep up with how old eggs are that I get here at home .......... 1) I am shipping them OR 2) I am eating them.
Otherwise. I stick them in when I have room & if I think about it. I don't usually turn them til I put them in, either. I know for a fact 2 of the 5 that have hatched in the last 24 hours were left outside for 2 weeks before I remembered to bring them in off the deck. I know for another fact that the other 3 of those 5 were somewhere in the house. LOL Just kidding - they were on the floor on their side beside the fishtank stand my incubator is on. Not even in an egg carton.
I have very few issues hatching any silkies. Some of DH's black sex links do not hatch well for me.
ETA: Edited to remove a pointless comment by myself.
