well as you see we all have eggs! I have mutt eggs that hatch out everytime!! Good strong eggs and I may can part with a few Duccle and self blues...but only a few!! I am hatching for Chickenstock!! And myself!! My mutt eggs are BLRW roo over RIR and BO...pretty hens from them so far!! My big hens are not that big(hatchery chicks from TSC last year) but lay well and Lucky the roo sure loves them...he has 9 gals and he has them all looking ragged...I am gonna have to make some hen saddles...He is a VERY busy boy!! BUT every egg is always fertile! The only ones not fertile at my house is my stupid wheaton Amers!!!
I could see them...I just know you will not be able to stay off the puter for a couple days...nope...not you!!
Hope your gal gets feeling better fast...I am trying to spring clean myself but building a puffy pen first...then there is the kids(goats) that NEED to be played with!! They stand at the fence calling me!! Then there are the cochins that NEED me to stand in thier coop and watch them...Then there are the BYC post I must comment on...
HAHAHAH and those posts on FB gotta comment on those too.........
I have everyone running lose right now..........tub soaking in bleach thanks to duck poop on my feet.......and would you believe one of them almost pooped ON my toes?
I also gotta scrub kitchen sinks........and stove..........and i am not cleaning the oven.........once dd gets to sleep again I will sneak up into the attic.
. I can stay off of computer - if I stay outside LMAO
Samantha some of them were set to just me......some to just susanne ....... some to just DD.. IDK what happened!
Well, holy moly! Now I want to deliver their BLRW chicks instead of them picking them up here when they hatch in a few weeks! Sounds like a gorgeous place! I haven't been on that road in about 20 years so I am sure it would be a big change.
Can someone tell me if maran eggs take a little longer to hatch then other breeds? Day 20 a not a sign of anything!! I usually have one peeping or something.
Holy Cow you guys put pages down faster than I can read them. Course, I keep running out to check on the chicks. My eldest son just wants to sit in the brooder and hold them
. The he doesn't want to wash his hands... He does
Rusty and the girls (course he has to keep them behind him, he is from the old country)
Junior (Rusty's son)
a little bit better shot of the girls
The new chicks in the brooder.
the mystery chick.
Sorry, don't know how to rotate the pictures. Took them with my IPOD so the quality isn't that great. One of these days I will remember to ask the wife where she hid the camera.
Rusty is our oldest at three years. Junior and the girls are his kids. Junior's mom was a RIR. All our others got killed when the new neighbors moved in and decided they didn't need a fence for their dogs. Took out 6 RIR and 4 EE (long story).
The fellow I got Rusty from said he is an "ameraucana" any experts out there can tell from my fuzzy picture? The girls are his kids they lay green eggs. Their moms were "sex link EE" or RIR I got from the local feed store. I think Junior's mom is RIR because his feet are yellow and the RIR had yellow feet, where as the "sex link EE" all had black feet like Rusty. Course I know little to nothing about chicken gentics... how do I do that Punnett square again.
Oh and in the brooder 26 EE (the hatchery calls them Araucanas/Americanas). With the caveat "Our Araucanas are recommended for egg laying color and ability and not for exhibition." also the 1 mystery chick.

He looks beautiful...so do the others! The chicks are sooo cute! Junior looks similar in shape to my Roo that I was told was Ameraucana also...but I have doubts...just not sure because I havent seen anything with his coloring. He has slate legs and muffs and silver/gray cape and tail...and a little rust in his wings. Here he is with the girls...the red one is my Comet:
